Get used to it as things are getting worse.(more projects made for the lowest comment denominator,IE those that need teh shiny, those that do not care about gameplay/balance,ect)

I haven't. The closest thing to disappointment was Maelstrom, but I didn't pay full price for it.

And if it would've worked, I probably would've loved it.

Except for the graphics, it was in every way inferior to the 2000 version.

You could chop up the 2000 version into three pieces and sell it at the price of the new AvP and it would still feel better buying those than what I did.
Thats why i just bought it for £3 on steam man its a bargain

Parasite Eve 2. Not exactly a terrible game, but a total dissapointment compared to Parasite Eve 1. Turned an amazingly innovative action RPG (one of the few gun based rpgs that actually worked in gameplay as an rpg) into a half survival horror half action game with very little RPG effects whatsoever, and was just a general letdown compared to the original game. I did play through it(or rather, trudged my way through it) once, mostly paying homage to the original... Only to find that I'd gotten the "mediocre" ending and missed the "good" ending by one tiny little step as failing to backtrack at one very arbitrary point in the game and talk to some douche that I honestly had no way of knowing about without consulting a faq. I'm one of those OCD twits that checks everything, and still missed it. I have played the original through about 5 times, enjoying both the story and the gameplay greatly, and imo that one tiny oversight is about the only thing that gives the second game any replay value whatsoever, which is NOT worth it.

TL;DR : original game was epic, sequel capitalized on an amazing game and ruined the series, as sequels tend to do. (I was naive, *sigh*)

Also battlefield: bad company. Didn't get very far in the campaign, found it rather boring, bought it for the online which was horribly broken and fail. I'll stick with CoD4 tyvm.

Halo 3. I didn't buy it, my brother did, but I feel bad for him. The campaign was rather awesome, though it's the first and only halo i've played, but similar to bad company, the online was terrible and imbalanced. Honestly very fail though how the highest difficulty was in fact a great deal easier than the normal difficulty due to a prevalance of my favorite weapon (the very overpowered pulse rifle) being introduced in the very first level. Die once or twice to unexpected snipers, kill one and pick up his pulse rifle, and proceed to walk through the rest of the game... wait, what?

the house I live in....Over the years I've noticed all the small problems, specially after watching holmes on homes I notice all the horrible problems. Like just this morning, I found out the waste water pipe from my sinks wasn't attached to the crossmembers in the wall, so it can go up or down, and slowly its gone down and my sink started leaking, I had to push it back up and reattach it.

PE went from neat horror action title to RE clone, they made a huge mistake in changing the format....

batman arkham asylam, but thats a special case - i bought it at full price, but only played it through once. its on my list of games to replay.
Erm, the title of the thread is : I paid full price for this shit? You didnt like Batman AA? Or you define it as shit because it didnt last enough hours? And you still plan on replaying it and still define it as shit?

Dont quite get what you mean. I for one loved Batman AA, best superhero game I have played, and one of the best games I have played period. There is a very specific and easily detectable difference between shit games and short games. I dont think Batman AA falls under either.
i can understand why youre confused. my stance is that a game should last long enough to be worth the amount paid for it. id rather have 50 hours of mediocre gameplay then 14 seconds of bliss. im short on money right now, so id like to be able to enjoy games i play for a period of time. and i replay games that i still classify as shit, because even though i dont particulary like it, if im playing, im not paying (for a newer game). i assumed that the title is an exaggeration, and that the thread is about games that we paid full price for but were disappointed.
i still think it was too short. might be something to do with the frame of mind i was in at the time, but just when i started to (really) enjoy the game, it ended with a decent ending, but still too soon for me. still one of the best super hero games ive played too.
Ok, think I get it but still disagree. Some entertainment is just so awesome it deserves a big pricetag imo. For example: I bought The Witcher on a 5? sale on steam. It was so good I was completely embarassed afterwards for paying so little for it.

If you are looking for pure length I guess you should play almost exclusively jrpgs (or car sims/sports games if you dont tire of the gameplay). They can usually last very long. Personally I'd rather have a short good game than a long mediocre. I'm one of the few (I guess) that found Portal to be exactly long enough. I'd rather it is that way, than drag it on for another couple of hours with bad levels/uninspired story.

my friend who hasnt played any other metroid game hates it to death
she samus wont stfu
i hope it didnt ruin the series for her
LOL Yeah that's probably a series ruiner
im thinking of loaning her zero mission and fusion to see if i can salvage any hope of her liking the series
If that doesn't work, Prime will definitely do the trick

I bought the new one on play for 15£. As a new game I felt it was barely worth that price tag. I wasnt terribly dissapointed but I had extremely low expectations. If I'd have bought it full price...I'd probably be raging. I completely agree about your statement on the old AvP and my heart bleeds for the fps scene since not a single game after it has captured the frenetic, fantastically fast and terrifying gameplay of that game.

Alpha Protocol.

Dear SEGA,
Please just stop, stop making sonic games and stop making RPGs.
It was made by Obsidian, SEGA just published it.
