and a lot of Tony Hawk games, still haven't played the first one.

I played Half Life 2, Halo 3 and Halo 2 (have never played Combat Evolved), Bad Company 2, Resident Evil 4, Elder Scrolls 4, Team Fortress 2, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Soulcalibur 4 before the original. That's quite a lot of games!

Hmmm, I've played Kotor 2 without playing Kotor, and... Silent Hill 2 without playing the first one because I've never had a Playstation. I'm surprised that that's it, unless you count playing Bioshock before System Shock 2. OH! I just remembered that I played Oblivion and Fallout 3 without playing the previous games of their respective series.

I played Monkey Island 2 before playing Monkey Island 1, I played Daggerfall (TES2) before I played Arena, I played Dune 2 and still haven't played Dune, and I played Duke Nukem 3D before 1&2. The only Gran Turismo I've played is 4, the only Sim Cities I've played is 2000, I joined the Civilisation series at Civ 2, I played Fallout 2 before Fallout 1 - the list goes on and on.

A while back, I got Deus Ex: Invisible War for free with a graphics card. I loved the cyberpunk aesthetics, and tracked my way down to the original, which was easily the most awesome experience in my life.

Though I don't get why people are saying things like GTA, Final Fantasy or Fallout 3. None of those games have much if anything to do with the previous ones, so the fact that they're sequels/prequels is irrelevent.

I honestly can't think of a time. When I find a sequel interesting I always try to get the original first, since it's usually cheaper and easier to understand. When I do buy a sequel first, I rarely go back and get the first game because I only buy sequels first if I have no interest at all in the original or I'm getting the sequel for multiplayer. I don't consider it playing the sequel "before" the original if I never play the original.

All you guys playing SC2 or MGS but not the originals make me very sad You really need to make time to play the originals, you won't regret it.

Well I played MGS4 and MGS2 before 1 and 3 but now I own all the games (apart from the PSP ones) and I have to say that playing through MGS3 before all of the others makes a lot of sense.

Also, Ocarina of Time feels empty compared to Majora's Mask because MM added a whole lot more to the games, and also added a lot more opportunity for exploration.

I tried out the Left 4 Dead 2 demo and bought the game before buying the first Left 4 Dead.

i seem to play the second game of inti creates megaman games (zero and ZX) and finish it before i do the second one.

i did it with starforce, finishing number 3 before starting the others... but i watched the first season of the anime so...
