I don't use my real name as I don't want to. It's not like you are the only Evan Mott, nor is it all that likely that you would know who has an escapist account if you walk past them in the street. You like using that as your username? that's great, it's just that a lot of people like being anonymous on the internet, myself included.

I just don't like complete strangers knowing too much about me, and I think most people who post under a pseudonym do so for that reason.

This is more of the reason I have a posting name. That, and when I was young my parents said not to use my full name online.
That and I like some of the names I make up.
