... Then don't.

I mean I have no plans to buy the game either as I am not the biggest Call of Duty fan ever but I'm not about to announce this fact to the world. I admit I think Call of Duty as a franchise isn't as good as people proclaim it to be but I don't announce this fact to the world.

Still I understand what you mean I too am not sold on the idea and honestly from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare onwards the series really managed to lose my interest.

I wouldn't mind getting all the new CoDs, MoHs, Haloz and all the other FPS stuff that seems to come out of every hole in this market. Not gonna spent my money for $60+ though. They'd be fine as gifts. Well accept Halo cause I don't have a 360 :p

Much rather get a new Dynasty Warriors.

How can someone say the word "realism" and " call of duty" together?
The problem is that they market themselves as such. CoD and other 'realistic' shooters are the reality TV of the gaming world. Trying so hard to be realistic that they actually achieve the opposite effect.

who buys a game for realisim? oh wait.........I do.Metro 2033 ftw
Metro 2033 counts as realism? I didn't know post apocalyptic subway stations filled with psychic monsters counted as realism. (yeah its a decent game, but no its not even close to realistic.)
well of coure not the setting,I mean the gameplay mechanics

So emptying a clip into someones head and them not dieing while taking considerably less amounts of bullet and dieing is realism?

Calling a game realistic based solely on mechanics is stupid and irrelevant when your shooting down fucking demon/dragon things from the sky. How do you know how to "realistically" take one of those things down? How do you "realistically" fight glowing blobs crawling along the floor to kill you?

I'm pretty sure the majority of the escapist is not going to get Black Ops.

Really, does anyone fucking care anymore? Activision's plan of annualizing their properties just makes people BORED of their games extremely fast. The guitar hero thing is done. Soon CoD will be done.

I have no interest in the multiplayer for Black Ops however I will give it a rent. I'm curious to see what the single player will be like. I know it will be short but it could be good, or at the very least I'm hoping for entertaining.

Whatever it is, it will be better than MW2. MW2 is about as imbalanced and broken as a game can possibly get. There's no way black ops will be anywhere near that awful.
youre talking about treyarch here. anything is possible with them at the helm as most people would say that COD's 5 and 3 were the worst in the series.

im not getting it either as its going to be epically shit. im might however try to forgive infinity ward in the cod8 if they decide to put dedicated servers and moddable content back in.

first, when did that happen ingame because that sounds like MW2
second,we just have to assume that shooting at it is the "realistic" way to kill it and another reason it takes so many shots is because you're using dirty rounds aka damaged rounds made by unskilled crafters in the metro stations and yes I know you can get military grade rounds but aren't that different but I use them most for money
third, how can you call setting realism either

but I liked CoD 4 for its realism and somewhat believable story.
I lost you there. But I agree with the rest of your statement. I regretted buying MW2, although I play with friends every once in a while. One day I was playing, and I was like, "This just isn't fun." That's the problem, they try to do all of these things that sound good in theory, but in game it's just not fun. Sure having a new sounds awesome at first, but playing a game that ends in less than 5 min isn't.

Treyarch gives me hope with this, but I'm not getting too hopeful. I'd rather be presently surprised than waste my money on something I was hyped about.

third, how can you call setting realism either
First: It happened to me a couple of times throughout the game, and even in the escapist review its mentioned that they sometimes will survive point blank shotgun rounds in the face in the face.

Second: "We just have to assume ..." I somewhat get the feeling your missing the point of realism, realism is not about assumptions.

Third: What? "how can you call setting realism either" no really what? If a game is set in a forest (forests are real) its more realistic then a post apocalyptic subway station infested with monsters.

Really you don't have to be defending the game so hard, I like it too. But its still not a realistic game.
