I won't buy it, but I might play it sometime for the single player. If I feel like a ridiculous multiplayer experience I'll plug in MW2, otherwise I have BFBC2... but in the meantime I've got too many PC games to play lol.

I will certainly purchase Black Ops. I never played CoD4, but I played World at War every day for like 9 months straight. I purchased MW2, but didn't like it that much. I think Black Ops will have the same difference that existed between World at War and CoD4, seeing as how Treyarch somehow manages to rock out Call of Duty's ass so well.

I'm hoping it's going to break the wall and become almost funny in it's lack of realism. Unless it gets the "The Last Airbender" effect where it breaks that wall and keeps on going and ends up back in the shit somehow.

I don't plan on it as of right now.

I, personally, am fed up with these war shooters. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor. I'm sick of every game either being compared to it or ignored completely for it.

About two months ago, I had someone come into my store with an unplayed but opened copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction. Though painfully short, it's worth spending the roughly 6 hours to play it, even if you trade it in immediately thereafter. It was a father, who bought it for his kids. They never played it. He said they couldn't tear themselves away from Modern Warfare 2 long enough to play it. Really? This is what we've come to? I don't care if you're 5 or 25. If your parents buy you something because they think you would like it, at that point you're OBLIGATED to play at least for 5 minutes to fairly say, "I appreciate that you thought of me, but I don't like this game."

That said, you'll have to excuse me if I don't get my hopes up for anything Call of Duty.
i know exactly what you mean, i just came back from college for a couple weeks and i was ready to let my brothers devour upon massive amounts of different games in my golden selection (kingdom hearts 1/2, ff7 and 9, halo odst/multi,gears of war 2,mass effect 1 and 2, dragon age, oblivion, team fortress 2, and civ 4) and they didn't touch a single one for more than 2 minutes, saying its boring and takes no skill..my head nearly exploded with disappointment and rage upon that i am related to them, and that is a very sad thought about the dad thing, selfish children, anytime i got a game from my parents i was fucking pumped and played that shit for at least 2 hours before making any kind of judgement

FUCK TREYARCH!

Besides that, no, I don't want the game. I loved CoD/2/4/MW2.

I despised WaW. I think it was the last WW2 shooter I've seen (THANK GOD), and I hope the modern combat trend will end soon as well.

Can I PLEASE get my WW1 game, guys?
Any WW1 game would consist of sitting in a hole until your feet rot off and then watching all your friends die around you as you bleed to death after your failed attempt at charging the enemy trenches.
Sounds pretty badass to me.

Wait, are you saying they made a Metro 2033 game? Metro 2033 is one of my favorite books of all time, when did they make a game?

Call of Duty stopped being fun after CoD2. 3 and up are just terrible. Black Ops is a new installment to a recently formed mountain of crap.
Holy crap, I thought I was the only person on the planet who had this opinion!

The trailer I saw looked particularly uninteresting, bland and generic, and had all the worst aspects of third-person action: a lack of weapon feedback, imprecise feeling aiming, arcade-y large reticules into which large yellow bullets coasted, clunky movement. Eh, I only joined the series at CoD4 and enjoyed it but didn't reinstall it. It wasn't special and complex enough to warrant replaying the way that I can HL2 or Crysis or BC2.

No. I made the mistake of buying Modern Warfare 2 for both the PC and the 360 since it was the "flavor of the year" and "everyone plays it". The worst purchases I have ever made in my entire life. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
