I recently joined the PC gaming community, how should I expand my gaming library?

Sid Meier's Alpha Centuri, Sid Meier's Pirates and TF2 are all games I love. Check them out.
Only one I haven't got in some form is Alpha Centuri, though I have heard of it, know where I can get it?

Btw, your avatar cracks me up xD
I bought it <a href=http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sid-Meiers-Alpha-Centauri-Alien-crossfire-expansion-/170325497925>here. You can also <a href=http://mastertronic.com/productSoldOut.asp?pid=756&productLabelID=1>order it from the publisher. Don't get it from GOG because they don't have the alien crossfire expansion pack.

Thanks man, I was playing with the idea of getting a new avatar

Vampire: The Masquerade

Maybe not the best RPG around, but certainly one of the most memorable. Be warned though, since the devs went belly-up you'll have to get the fan-made patches for it to run decently.

They don't seem to ship to my country unfortunately. I will check local sources.

Will keep an eye out, people keep telling me that the mods are really good, so will do :)

Any other games you can recommend?
If you're a more of a hardcore realism guy, you could try Red Orchestra 2, it's a very cool realism WW2 game, but not very well known due to it's niche appeal. That, Fallout 3, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 are pretty much all I play these days/

New Zealand, I didn't see it as an option.

Not much for a realism game kinda guy when it comes to shooters as I'm an average player at best, does it have a demo?

Judging from your game library, you may enjoy Crusader Kings II(Grand Strategy set in the middle ages).

Oh, I must have missed that... Cool, so it's Civ in Space? Judging by what I have seen. Bought!

Is this the game that recently had a Game of Thrones mod?

Not about hardcore as in skill, but hardcore as in not just a CoD-style player. You need to be willing to play more strategically and think out your moves. Most players are pretty garbage at the actual shooting part of it, but make up for it with tactics. Not sure about the demo, but every so often they do a steam "play for free" week, it's worth checking out on Steam if you're interested.

Captcha: "i love you", awww thanks captcha, but please capitalize your I.

In that case, it interests me, I just added it to my wishlist on Steam, will keep an eye out for a price drop or if I suddenly want another shooter :)

Binding of Isaac is a damn fine little indy, especially if you like your twin stick shooter/ roguelikes.
Witcher 2 is well worth a playthrough or 2.
Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 are really very good as well. 1 is probably better than 2 for story, though 2 is by no means a bad game, and recently made it to steam. The MMO version goes free to play soon iirc, so a chance to brush up on your lore.
Orcs Must Die 1&2 are also well worth your time, especially if you can find someone to do co-op with in 2.
Also, Bastion. If you write the rest of the post off as the deranged frothing jibberish of a delusional madman, still get Bastion. One of the finest soundtracks in gaming and a great, great game to boot.

EDIT: Btw, how are you enjoying FTL? I am heroin level addicted to that crazy game.

If you are still taking suggestions, Terarria might be worth putting on your wishlist. It's good value, and rather addictive. One of those games that can last for a while.

Also if you are into wargaming, World of Tanks can serve as light entertainment on the side. Drive tanks around and shoot the other team. Great physics and maps, a tactical element as well, and it's free to play.

Yes, although the game is pretty good on her own merits.
Oh, I imagine, I just remember seeing a vid on that mod and thinking it was awesome, the game in general just moved to the top of my list. Thank you for your help :)

I've got/played all but Orcs Must Die 2 and Binding of Isaac, didn't know Orcs Must Die had a sequel so that has my attention.

I am loving FTL, the best $10.48 bucks I have ever spent in a while. I got up to the flagship on easy and then died quick, on normal the furthest I have made it is sector 5. It's like crack and will definately tide me over until Borderlands 2 is out here tomorrow.

I've looked into Terraria and have to say it didn't click with me, still it was something different and I was able to play it on my brothers PC for an hour or so just to have a look at it so thanks for that suggestion.

World of Tanks, I actually already had this one, I must have missed it on my list of games I have, sorry about that. But yes, that is an awesome F2P game.

Thanks for clarifying that (not just for me, but perhaps a few others too. I wasn't sure if you were trying to insult someone or not xD), and you are right. I have a lot of the games people have mentioned if they are on console, I am looking for stuff that is mostly PC exclusive.
I could tell by the tone of your first post exactly what you were looking for. And unfortunately, there is so much stuff on the PC that you (and I) missed that you will NEVER be able to catch up. You've got to pick and choose carefully.

I can personally vouch for Gothic 2 and Deus Ex 1, but the truth of the matter is, they may not be for everybody. Gothic 2 kicked the shit outta me for awhile until I figured out what was going on. However, if you are familiar with that genre and you feel like you've been short changed by it consistently, then Gothic 2 may be for you.

I've added it to my wishlist on Steam, so if I see it go on sale I will nab it. Same goes for Deus Ex.

Lots of good games listed.

Never winter Nights 1/2 if you're into role playing.

Garry's Mod

Dark Souls (With a controller, as the PC is cheaper with moar content)

Guild Wars 2 is a good MMO

Borderlands 2 looks rad

War of Roses is coming out soon, looks good,

Of course, watch steam for sales, you can save tons.

Catchable: minty fresh
