No i'm not more violent and i'm not running people over with my car ( although some people deserve it ).

It's mild , very mild .I started saying "************" a lot. It's actually pretty funny when i think about it . While it doesn't seem that bad, because i swear all the time anyways , it's kind of worrying to see that simply playing a game, can change , if ever so slightly , my habit . For those who haven't played the game , the word " ************" is used VERY VERY often. And because it's used so often , it kinda sneaked into my speech . Now i wonder if it's because i'm easily influencable , or because it has been hammered into my head in such a short span . Just something i wanted to share.

Discussion value : Have you ever noticed a game changing a habit , or influence you in any way however slight it may be? Now i by no means mean a game made you more violent , i mean more like little habits you picked up from a game here or there .

Oddly enough, I did run into a few situations where I asked myself "what would Trevor do?" and chuckled at the thought of that. I'll never act upon it though, hehe, I quite value not being a felon.

Other than that, I noticed I sometimes unconsciously mimic the walking animation of whatever character I'm currently playing a lot as, I wonder how it looks from afar at times.

Same here. I also did it when playing San Andreas. I like the way they talk in the poorer areas of LA.

Games? Only one I can think of off the top of my head is that I'll say "by the Nine..."

Books on the other hand? Oh yeah, you can tell when I'm reading a certain series, because I'll start using phrases from it, even if they're in a fictional language.

I did that same thing for a month after Skyrim came out. Drove my friends crazy.

If a game would ever influence me, it would be me using a quote from it or something. I think one week whenever I ended a conversation it was with a "I should go". But never have they influenced me violently.

After playing Metal Gear Rising I started saying "da" instead of "yeah."

I have no idea how it happened.

After playing Persona 4, I liked the design of the protagonist's glasses so much that they influenced the style I picked for my new pair.

After playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, my friend and I will occasionally look at each other and simultaneously say "Well, Sheeeeyit!" when we run into each other.

To be honest, books usually have a lot more of these minor influences on me than games. Usually this manifests as phrases from my favorite series sneaking their way into my everyday vocabulary. The most recent example is the use of "Oponn's Push" and "Oponn's Pull" when referring to good or bad luck.

Not much I'd say. But after Ni No Kuni, I did enjoy trying to incorporate "Proper Tidy" into my normal speech.

I think I'm usually just influenced on a verbal level. Incorporating mannerisms and such into speech. But they hardly guide my actions.

Shut the fuck up, *****-ass Baller. Go back ta Grove Street.

OT: I've never let games seek into my real life, but I did have a friend once who always tried to run like Sonic with his hands trailing behind his back. I had weird friends.

I've not really picked up much except Micheal's slight accent.
Also, real-life heists look much easier to pull off for some reason...
I joke of course!

I haven't picked up any sayings from games, although after reading the comments of people using sayings from The Elder Scrolls I suddenly wish I had :/

Games which I hold very dear to me often effect my view on the world around me. I can't think of anything in particular, because, no matter how much I love a game, it's never going to affect me to much I notice it. But occasionally I'd be in a certain situation and I'd react to it in a certain way which, upon reflection later, I'd compare to how the protagonist of a certain game would react to that situation. Stuff like that.

lol

OT: As long as we're sharing, I have one. Way back when the Tony Hawk games were all the rage, I admit that I started seeing "rails" and "ramps" everywhere I would look while out in the world. I've never had a good sense of balance so skateboarding was never a pleasure I could partake in. But after playing THPS and THAW I started thinking "I could grind that" in real life. Not enough to grab a board and actually try of course, but in game terms I started looking at the world through Hawk Goggles thinking certain areas around town would make good levels in the game.

Every time I play a point and click adventure game (Monkey Island, TWD), I start thinking as if I'm in one in real life. My movements become calculated and I think of each sentence before saying it, often imagining various options of what to say.

I started saying 'No worries' a lot after reading The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett. I first read it probably a decade ago and still say 'No worries' all the time. I'd never really said it before then, at least I'd never noticed if I did.

Survival horror games, Silent Hill in particular, taught me the value of picking up maps whenever they're available. A map of the mall? Don't mind if I do...

I find myself being a little heavy on the throttle IRL after playing any GTA or racing game.
