This game lives up to the hype and then some. I got my hands on it at Comic Con for about 30 minutes, and it was badass. It was like Hulk meets a crazy hack 'n slash, meets Spiderman, meets crazy awesome actually non-linear game world that is quite literally, identical to NYC.

There have been at least three threads about [prototype] over as many days.
I'm afraid you're going to have to get used to all of the nerd spunk that will be all over the forums until and for about eight days after this game has been released because nerds are a timid lot that need constant reassurance that the awesome thing they just experienced is awesome and will verify it's awesomeness by constantly bleating in your ear about it until you wish they fathers had never raped their mothers. Fortunately, nerds are also more fickle than a bisexual gold-digging girlfriend and eight days is about as long as "TEH GRATESS GAEM EVAH!!!111!" can hold their attention before they start squealing about something else.

I'll be buying it. That I assure you.

Not because of the trailer but because I hate exclusives.

God who cares? Everyone keeps yammering on and on about this damn game. Its going to be shit.
Do you want to know how I know this? Because every idiot can not shut up about it for 5 minutes so it is vastly over hyped. It may be a decent game. May even be good. But its not going to live up to the hype people constantly pile on it.
Pretty much this.

Not to mention the only reason it even registers as a blip on my "give-a-shit-o'metre" is because its on PC. If it was console only I would not give two wanks about it.
And especially pretty much this.

I don't really give in to hype, admitedly I got caught in the Halo 3 hype but then again I loved the game and I still do so at what point is the Hype for a game that you end up enjoying a bad thing?

To be honest, I think this game will be amazing, I think it will be better than inFAMOUS mainly because inFAMOUS seems to be a little more generic in my eyes (even more so than Prototype) and boring even it does look like it has superior graphics.

They are both similiar games anyway.

- Both feature protagonists with powers they didnt ask for/want
- Both feature potagonists with OTT powers
- Both games are sandbox
- Both games people are hunting you down because of your power
- Both games feature some kind of virus or mutation sweeping the city

The difference being that inFAMOUS has a karma system and an admitedly interesting feature of your enivronment changing depending on how good or bad you are (even if that has been done before) whilst Prototype you are a shape shifting killing machine of doom. Each to their own.

Prototype for me.

Looks like Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, 'cept you're wearing a jacket. And you're not green.
It's actually made by the same guys.
Yea. The trailer made me want it... even more.
