Actually, it's really the other way around for me.

I used to be a PC gamer and then I got an Xbox.

Now I totally suck at MW2 for PC yet kick ass (am mildly good) at BO on Xbox.

I have no reasons to go back to PC shooters.

Same here, I'd choose an analogue stick any day. I dont hate M&K/B though, I just prefer a controller. For shooters anyway.

WIth me it's not so much that I can't use M&K setups but for some reason I just don't enjoy games on my PC. I don't know what it is but for some reason I just like to sit in my big comfy chair and play a game on the TV.

It's probably that I've done it for so long (30+ years) that it's just habit.

I don't particularly care all that much. Getting started on PC means getting over WASD (or WESD if you're a total control hipster), getting started on console means finnicky aiming and overshooting. A mouse has more customisable sensitivity but you can get those stick extensions for controllers that make things a whole lot better and make me wonder why they don't ship with the extra 1/2 inch by default.

CS:S does shooting so well, that another game really has to do it's best to get anywhere even near.

Well yeah.

As a student, it's pretty easy to persuade my parents that I need a laptop for work.

It would be less easy to persuade my parents that I need a 360 and TV, and unless they're paying, I can't afford.

Not really. Need less no autoaim, you mean. I never liked controls being a reason for the game to be difficult. The interface between player an game should be as smooth as possible, so the game can challenge on it's own and not as just part of that system, if you'll forgive the degree of twattery in that statement.

I am a pc gamer at heart. There are very few console titles which make me want a console frankly said. The only one of the last couple of years being Donkey Kong Country Returns due to nostalgia. But then I realize I have to wave my arms like an idiot and cool down on the idea.

Sticking to my comfortable mouse and keyboard!

I switch on and off with different consoles depending on my gaming mood. Last month I was pretty shooter hungry so I was getting cuddly with Borderlands and Bioshock on my PS3 while this month I've been in an Hack 'n' Slash and RPG mood; so I've got FFVII, VIII and IX as well as Dissidia Final Fantasy waiting on hand in my PSP; as well was Oblivion sittin on my Steam.

It really does depend on my mood and it's a pretty seamless change. The only time I've buggered up is switching between Bioshock and Borderlands.

Like a few have said it's not a matter of having to explain anything. The benefits of mouse and keyboard are as plain as the benefits of a control pad or wheel or lightgun or joy stick. They each have their place.

A keyboard w/mouse setup is better... under the right circumstances. Providing your proficiency with each control type was equal to your proficiency with a pad then their superiority within respective jobs would be undeniable. When you discard subjectivity then there's no need for explanation.

I started off playing consoles... from the ages of about 6 until 12. I then began to play on the PC, it was Everquest.

I'm 22 now, and a fully converted PC Master Race gamer. Although I own a Wii and a PS3, and I have incredible memories of the N64 playing with friends, the controller just doesn't cut it.

I'm also really into DotA, which is by far the most fun I've ever had in a game... and only playable on PC.

Anyone who prefers console gaming is, in my opinion, ignorant and they have not had the opportunity of experiencing the pleasures of PC gaming (otherwise, they would have converted).

There is no need to explain, it just is (for FPS). However if you prefer a controller then full power to you, use whatever you like! games are for entertainment after all.
I have nothing against controllers either, I have two on my desk right now including a 360 controller, wouldn't dream of using either for an FPS mind you, the closest I've gotten to that is using a controller for Arkham asylum I guess - even then, although the controller gives a better experience (probably due to the game being designed for a controller) I can still get more precision control with a mouse.

...elaborate, please.
I'm assuming he thinks its easier to aim with a mouse therefore it is easier. However he forgets that everyone else has a mouse and keyboard so it's exactly the same as everyone has the same dis/advantage.

Once you go PC you never ever go back. Thats part of the reason that the only game console I have ever owned was a nintendo gamecube. Oh and an original gameboy....

I've always found that games where I prefer controllers(fighting, racing, for examples) I can still adapt to a PC configuration. But I can never do the opposite.
This is the problem that I have with jumping back into console gaming. I can always customize and tweak the settings on my PC until I find something that's comfortable and works for me. On consoles, it seems that it's a "play the game the developer's way" situation, and that just makes me angry when the developers are ignorant of basic button layout.

CS 1.6 was better...
Nope. And that often sounds as either nostalgic and/or elitist. Believe it or not.

Not for me. I actually never really played 1.6 while it was the most current version. I first tried CS when it was in 1.1, got into it when it was in 1.3 and jumped rather straight from 1.5 to Source. And I've been happy with most, if not all, of the improvements made to the Source version.

always get games on the pc rather then my xbox, but i got mw2 for the xbox wen it came out as i was not gonna get the pc version (for obvious reasons) and i hated it, got through the sp and traded it in, was just so slow and un-responsive compared to playing a fps on the pc
