So me and a friend of mine both liked to play Halo 3 and Reach split screen against each other. Recently we both got TF2 on PC and quickly got addicted. After about a month of playing TF2 we tried to play Halo Reach and just couldn't. The controls felt slow and just was not as comfortable as a FPS on the PC.
So for a point of discussion have you ever had a change in one game affect how you felt playing another?

After playing Mass Effect 2, then Mass Effect 1 (For a third time), I couldn't play a new game of Mass Effect 2 again.
It is far too different from the first, which is a shame, because the first one wasn't too shabby.

Once I got my gaming PC a few years ago I haven't really been able to go back to console since
A) The only console I have was just bought of ebay.com, and B)the only time I would play console was when I played Silent Hill 2 which I lost recently before selling the PS2

Not really, I've been a PC game player since I started, and with the possible exception of a very different set of games on the N64, I don't play much else.

Ever since I bought a PC last year I've been hooked and my PS3 is just gathering dust. So many great games for so little money and it's more comfortable to use.

I've always been a PC gamer, I tried to play FPSs on consoles, it was very difficult at first, but after many many hours of practice, I soon picked it up, obviously I still prefer mouse and keyboard, but it goes to show that with a bit of perseverance going from mouse to controller is possible.

Nope. I'm pretty versatile and never get stuck in a control scheme for more than a few minutes after switching between games/consoles.

I actually hate keyboard/mouse for shooters and much prefer my controller.

Jumps to cue:

Because it's more precise and allows more customization! :D

That said, I enjoy console controllers as well.

ZOMG! Keyboard and mouse is so much better!!!!1!
/idiot rant.

In all honesty I prefer the feel of a controller in my hands even for shooters. It is so much more comfortable.
Sure, my aiming sucked for a long time but I am getting there ;)

haha i actually agree to this.

OT: the only games those happen with, are going back to shooters like goldeneye and whatnot, its so awkward switching back to one joystick. Otherwise all controls are pretty fluid and takes a few minutes to adjust back to.

I've always found that games where I prefer controllers(fighting, racing, for examples) I can still adapt to a PC configuration. But I can never do the opposite.

Right now, I'm having a tough time with the mouse/keyboard setup, as I've never played a modern FPS on the PC before until a few days ago. Perseverance is key, I guess. One thing's for certain: I won't touch a multiplayer mode for any PC FPS until I improve (possibly out of fear of getting scorned and insulted out of any server I would play in).

Of course, this is coming from a lifetime of console gaming.

I'll give the PC players the edge with the mouse. While I prefer a stick, I can see how the mouse is a better tool.

However, I refuse to believe a keyboard can be better than anything. I hate it. With a passion. Pretty much the main reason I don't play games on my PC.

OT: I occasionally slip up in some games and press the wrong button, but its a very rare occurrence.

when I went pc a few months ago, the community was so much nicer, and accepting, you do get the occasional jerkwad, but the first server I played in on tf2 was with like professional tournament players, they immediately accepted me into their clan.

OT: if I play the sequel to a game, I cannot play the original first (there are some exceptions) even if I'm only playing for the story.

My first PC game was C+C Generals (with Zero Hour) and i loved it. It was just fantastic. I installed it a few months ago and i just can't play it anymore because it's just so...shit compared to the games i've played since, namely CoH. It's just click n' drag your units then point at what you want dead. :'(

PC gaming is more convenient, so I do it more, but really, I get the best experience out of a console.

Nope, can't say I've ever had that problem. Of course I've been multi-platform gaming for pretty much all my gaming life. The only control scheme I ever had a huge problem with was Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS. None of the available control schemes for that game were very intuitive and all were awkward and difficult to use.

I think I'll always be a console gamer at heart, though I still play plenty of games on PC. I just prefer the feel of a controller, and being able to comfortably play games while literally in bed or laying on the sofa is just a good feeling.
