I hope people actually read this and dont just say stuff like "Go play halo" ect ect.

I may not be the old school fan of the series but i picked up a little game by the name Of Morrowind on release day way back. I played it to no end, it was and still is one of the most stunning games. The game world was huge, my first time i didn't even follow the story i just explored... i tried to break my brethren out of the slave camps, tried to stop discrimination.

The one thing i always thought would be cool, the one thing that would make this perfect game a Perfect + game is co-op.

Am sure everyone will hate but please hear me out. I know you can say, jackasses will ruin your fun and immersion. All i have to say is, don't you have any friends who are alike you? Who also enjoy to role play? Its hard to truly put into words how much it could enrich the experience. Traveling alongside your buddy, you see a random cave, "Shall we take a look?" a whole new adventure has begun.... If anyone grew up with old school fantasy it always parties or companions and it was always amazing.

I know i must be sounding emotional or like a nut case but i just re beat Morrowind for like the 7th time, i just got to thinking how much fun Skyrim could be traveling alongside my buddy as we experience these amazing huge and just absolutely gorgeous world Bethesda made.

I also relize many problems could arise but why not do the Saints Row 2 system of doing Co-op. you host it with your character and your story progress, at the end of your session you now have a choice to save what was just done pick another slot so you can continue your story but keep your sp file, or just not save at all, no harm done. I feel like they could do this if they really wanted to.

Does anybody feel the same way? like at all? Am i the only one? Trust me i know the single player experiance of this game should stay intact just i believe sharing this adventure as well is something i will always wish for.

It might be a bit weird. The quests are really only based on being for one person. Also, I don't quite see the draw of it. You're trying to maybe get some info or get into what's happening and your friend starts laughing and starts walking away, telling you to go dungeon diving with him.

I disagree.

The enjoyment in Bethesda games for me comes from the feeling of complete immersion in the environment and a lovely, relaxed zen feeling I get from exploring their worlds on my own.

Anyway, there would be huge balance issues due to the levelling.

I would say more, but you summed it up for me. :)

This. Oblivion was my world to tackle.

I think it would be interesting...

Though, I remember all the times in Oblivion when you're supposed to team up with a group of NPC's (Breaking the Siege of Kvatch [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Breaking_the_Siege_of_Kvatch], The Desolate Mine [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:The_Desolate_Mine_(quest)], etc.), where it just ended up being a cluster foxtrot and I accidentally killed as many friendlys as the foes did.

However, since I'm most likely going to be getting this on the 360 and am too cheap to use Live, if this feature is implemented, I doubt I'd get to use it.

Oh, someone will probably mod it in eventually. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it's a decent game.

I agree. I don't think TES are the kind of games that would work well with co-op.

I honestly wanted this feature back in Morrowind, but I question its usefulness in Oblivion. There were a lot of scripted events that would mean activating for only one player, and sometimes such script was the exit to an unexitable area (Oblivion gates, for example). A lot of things just wouldn't make much sense either, like having both you an your team mate jump in that dude's dream. At least back in Morrowind, if one of you got stuck in a cave or something, there were levitate and intervention spells that could be cast.

Sounds like it would be fun. Why can't two people be completely immersed into one world? After all, immersion is just a step up from pretending.

However, you might at times fall into the same trap the Borderlands now does - you want to play with a buddy, but you're a level 30 halfway-there badass and your buddy's just now had his RPG cherry popped and quakes in his boots at a low-level ninja turtle*.

[sub][sub]That was a joke people. Although ninja turtles wouldn't be so out of place in Borderlands...[/sub][/sub]
Thank you at least you can see it through my eyes. Look at Dungeons and dragons, people still stay immersed. As for the level thing, thats true but like i said, if its with a good friend you can get past this.

I power leveled my friend in wow. It was all worth the while.

Just, i want this on Skyrim. Oblivion wasint as amazing as morrowind was, we need to recapture the magic of morrowind then let us share this epic joury with our friends, just like all epic fantasies, its never just one man. Even Frodo had sam.

*facepalm* if i had a nickle...
Look, elder scrolls isnt that kind of RPG.

First, in Co-op there has to be some sort of resurrection feature. Thats not TES's shtick, you die, you reload, there is no spirit guide to help you back into the land of the living.

Second, quests are sort of made to portray you as the big hero/douche bag, it would be weird if sed person had a side kick.

This idea has been done talked to death, and rejected. The elder scrolls is single player for a reason, and should stay that way

Skyrim will be my solo adventure to get me away from the frustrations in my real world.

Diablo III will be my fun time with friends!

Ehhh, it could be hit or miss really. It could be like Deadrising 2 in which is actually adds to the fun of the game or it can be like Crackdown 2 where it is heavily abused and misused by the community.

Well, I think it would be fucking awesome. I have played both Morrowind and Oblivion and I was always stuck thinking "Damnit, why can't my mate and I go stomp on some bandits face?"

See, I got as many companion mods as I could, but the AI is just retarded. I swear I have now spent more time trying to get the Co-Op to work then I have playing the fucking game.

The only mod I ever found with co-op involved me pissing around with some really unfriendly codes to start a server before connecting with a client and playing. And you know what?

It was buggy as shit.

We could only stay outside because right before the maker stopped giving a shit he said that you can only stay outside right now but here's a guide on how to load the insides so you don't have to live in a cardboard box until I fix up the mod so you don't have to. You know what the guide said? Under Progress....

Wow, I have raged for a while and still haven't talked about the co-op. I think that with the right amount of work it would be perfect. You COULD have 64 player co-op like in ArmA 2 but if there are 64 players then there are 1000000000 monsters. Or split screen co-op, but the more players the harder it gets. Simple. Some people talk about the levelling but co-op stands for COOPERATIVE. As in, work TOGETHER to stomp on a goblins face. So who cares about the levelling? A monster is too hard for you? That's why your level 89 buddy is there.

See, the reason I think co-op would be better is because it would open up so many new things. For example, even in my archer class I still had a sword. Why? Because almost all enemies are melee and will charge you. With co-op, however, the archer could make extra wooden limbs appear on enemies, the warrior will hold the enemies off so that the archer doesn't get his buttocks carved into tiny bits. Same with the mages. Half the reason I don't fast travel is because I will find new things if I don't. Because if you don't know its there, you might not stomp on it. See, now I fast travel just because there's nothing new to do.

Co-op could change that, for example you could use your saved character, join a co-op, be plonked into the world. It could be a completely co-op world. So once you out-play the single-player, take your archer into a game and play co-op! The quests could be designed for co-op, like your group goes and attacks a camp. And the world should be random. For example, every hour or whatever make new camps appear, old ones disappear, cities come under attack ect ect.
Then you won't end up with the same world that you now have clocked in both single-player and co-op AND new and exicting things would happen all the time. You might walk past a town. What's all that screaming? Better go have a look. OH BUGGER, an Oblivion Gate just opened onto of my favourite bar! Screw you deamons, I WANT MY ALE! (place epic music, then charge through the gate, close it, and get a well earned glass of ale stalwart hero of the bar.)
It might sound like an MMO but it would be good because it wouldn't end up as your same MMO grind unless you actually wanted to. And if you did, then you probably aren't human.

Play Co-Op,
Rimmy

It won't work. The role play conversation feature would be totally debunked. I want to keep it solo, just an epic solo adventure.

Every game can't be multi-player or else you'll alienate the people who prefer to play single player. And what happens if you're on an adventure with a friend and then something comes up where they can't play anymore. You're screwed.

Frodo may have had Sam, but they were also in a story built for two. I don't have a problem with a game one day maybe revolving around two protagonists, but it has to realize someone like me would never get to play it.
