Not really. My typical play style is go into sneak mode, summon a monster to distract people, and snipe them off, one by one from a nearby tree. Other people would just get in the way. Me and my spider daedra have been doing fine on our own.

i can see the benefit of both arguments
games by Bethesda are all about immersion, having your friend alongside would hinder that a bit especially since its completely open world, sometimes the best co-op is seen in games comes from linear and direct plots and mission

but i also agree, that if you find the right friend it could be a blast! that could lead to some epic cave searches or some fantastic dragon slaying or something
(hmm, my inspiration to take up dungeons and dragons right there....)
still id say no, in the end its probably not worth the effort
See! That's what I mean! Epic dragon slaying, cave crashing and all of that good stuff is what I'm yelling at people on forums for!

My voice is sore now,
Rimmy
i know!! just thinking about iv come up with some awesome ideas! but they just wouldn't work for the type of game skyrim is. ( or will be, who are we to know)
im hoping after there work on rage they will get some multi-player ideas, and im hoping they make some online version but right now i don't see any way to incorporate co-op successfully :/
Well, as for the co-op bit, look back on the first page and read my extra long idea of how to do it. But again I agree, there are many awesome ideas, things that would make people think of it as the new Halo or CoD

It might be a bit weird. The quests are really only based on being for one person. Also, I don't quite see the draw of it. You're trying to maybe get some info or get into what's happening and your friend starts laughing and starts walking away, telling you to go dungeon diving with him.
A. play with someone else because:
B. the person you're playing with isn't your friend anymore :D

Here we go, someone who doesn't want co-op. I ain't gonna yell at you or call you an idiot. All im gonna say is: You don't HAVE to play Co-Op if you don't want to. And I can understand some people not wanting to.

Anyway, disregard what I just said and PLAY CO-OP,
Rimmy

I have one thing to say to that idea...

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH.

*Cough*.

But yes, me and my best friend 13 year old girl about skyrim every few days, as were both devout WRPG fanatics, and each spent hundreds of hours on oblivion and morrowind, Frankly the only think stopping skyrim from being the best game I ever play would be the ability for us to terrorize the games inhabitants together xD.

Sadly, its just not a co-op IP, and that's rarely subject to change this late into a games career.

Even still..Sqeeeeeeh and whatnot.

Looks like noone really noticed what i posted. Its all just singleplayer this singeplayer that. I gave a good reason and thought it would be great.

heres my real question, what could it hurt to add it?

Plus people are saying how it would work blah blah. Like i said use the system SAints Row 2 Co-op worked.

If the only argument is, its singleplayer and it'll break immersion then thats just stupid.

If there was co-op in oblivion imagine the fun itd be hunting with a friend for this fabled unicorn i never saw. Or raiding a dark dungeon. Better yet, planning a infiltration of the castle and taking out a key figure.

Fine dont make it so you cant do the main plot. I dont care i was mainly refering to the stuff you could do with your pal. Just imagine them putting all these easter eggs in the game, mabye making some places un fast travelible, you and your buddy steal or hop on a horse and GRAND adventure ensues! Who knows what you'll find on your way there, hopefully you might run into an abbonded camp halfway there to take a much needed rest and check your rations. On your way there you might find a an odd looking area off in the forest and you'll find its a cult of warlocks. Am talking just imagine a real world, ever evolving, always changing somthings always happing, so much unknown. All you have is you and your buddy. Morrowind did this all it was legendary, all it missed was that co-op.

It just seems like everyone here is letting the game do the roleplaying for them, mabey people forget of rpgs of the old. Just let the game tell you what to do, follow and complete.

its just sad, look say the excuse of "itd take to long for them to do it" I'll accept that but these arguments of SP only. its crap. its just sad. Also like i said not massive co-op just 2 player, 4 player max.

I could see it working with a few restrictions if only to test the waters.

I'd limit it to two players a time.

I think it could work fine.

Not like it's a story driven tactical rpg rich in dialog anyways.

It would have to be drop in/drop out though.
Well, I was thinking more of a sperate world, because how will the character dropping help? The would start from the beginning and if you drop out WHOOPS there goes your Sword Of Killyness

I hope people actually read this and dont just say stuff like "Go play halo" ect ect.

I may not be the old school fan of the series but i picked up a little game by the name Of Morrowind on release day way back. I played it to no end, it was and still is one of the most stunning games. The game world was huge, my first time i didn't even follow the story i just explored... i tried to break my brethren out of the slave camps, tried to stop discrimination.

The one thing i always thought would be cool, the one thing that would make this perfect game a Perfect + game is co-op.

Am sure everyone will hate but please hear me out. I know you can say, jackasses will ruin your fun and immersion. All i have to say is, don't you have any friends who are alike you? Who also enjoy to role play? Its hard to truly put into words how much it could enrich the experience. Traveling alongside your buddy, you see a random cave, "Shall we take a look?" a whole new adventure has begun.... If anyone grew up with old school fantasy it always parties or companions and it was always amazing.

I know i must be sounding emotional or like a nut case but i just re beat Morrowind for like the 7th time, i just got to thinking how much fun Skyrim could be traveling alongside my buddy as we experience these amazing huge and just absolutely gorgeous world Bethesda made.

I also relize many problems could arise but why not do the Saints Row 2 system of doing Co-op. you host it with your character and your story progress, at the end of your session you now have a choice to save what was just done pick another slot so you can continue your story but keep your sp file, or just not save at all, no harm done. I feel like they could do this if they really wanted to.

Does anybody feel the same way? like at all? Am i the only one? Trust me i know the single player experiance of this game should stay intact just i believe sharing this adventure as well is something i will always wish for.
I'm with you on this, though I see a few problems with the idea that might effect the game overall.

Together we stand against the tide of single players!

Or maybe just some guys on the forum but anyway.

I love immersion. But not everything has to be immersive. For example, the ArmA 2 campagian was so immersive it was like getting sucked down a drain into the ocean of immersion. However, the multi-player (while still fucking awesome) wasn't AS immersive. And how is two people not immersive? What? It's okay to have one person saving the world but two AND OH GOD IT'S A CLUSTERFUCK! Really?

Co-op..... just co-op,
Rimmy

It's easy enough to throw a half-assed co-op option for people that enjoy it. Resistance fall of man did this great. Basically just nonsensically double up the main character, and increase the difficulty a tad to account for it. If people find it would be game breaking they can just play singleplayer, you shouldn't selfishly say no to it just because you don't want it yourself. There's something really really special about co-op that has yet to be really tapped into in a meaningful game. Sure I can enjoy resident evil 5 style co-op but I think it would be amazing to play a deep rpg where companions are controlled by others, who can all go their own way or stick together and experience quests and cultural exploration together.
