Funny, I was taught a lesson here about the importance of gameplay. And how not important it is. Do you disagree with that. Tell me, is it only gameplay that matters? Or do aesthetics matter, too? Are people not allowed to enjoy, enjoyable mental associations and aesthetics? After a recent thread that I made, I thought it was okay to be shallow about video games.

Of course, I did wind up playing Doom, Quake, and even Hexen as a kid. But that was because that was a particular situation I was in as a kid in which I didn't have any other choice. I was at a relative's house as a game addicted kid, and they didn't have any other games.
