It said H.P. Lovecraft on a paper about Peyton Place.
It said David Foster Wallace from a paper about heterosexism.
It said Cory Doctorow for a short story.
And also Stephen King on a forum post.

Overall it doesn't seem pretty consistent.

I simply wrote a quick story off the top of my head, about 3 paragaraphs long, and I write like J.K Rowling? I fail so hard.

One of my recent forum posts seems to be written by Stephen King.

An excerpt from H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness came back as written by Edgar Allan Poe.

I broke the system, what did I win?

Who in God's name is Cory Doctorow? Why is this thing obsessed with him?

I apparently write like James Joyce (I have Ulysses, so I know that I don't). I actually write like Douglas Adams, on average.

Some common themes of his work include digital rights management, file sharing, and post-scarcity economics.[1]
That sounds like real riveting stuff. Sounds like advertising to me from these "analysts".

He's a well-known blogger. (boingboing is his).

And yeah, as many others have said, it's pretty inaccurate. But I found it quite fun regardless.

Apparently analyzing four different posts of mine from the same role play, I wrote like J. K. Rowling, Chuck Palahniuk, Arthur C. Clarke, and the one I found most hilarious, William Shakespeare.

I'm running several of my short stories, different pieces each with different themes and ideas, right now.

For 'Protest', I write like Margaret Mitchell.
For the screenplay I wrote of my 'Red Riding Hood' story, I write like Cory Doctorow.
For the actual short story, I write like Cory Doctorow again, and for it's 'sequel', my version of 'Hansel and Gretel', I write like Anne Rice.
And for my mindfuck story, 'Psychadelic Nightmare', I write like Chuck Palahniuk.

Overall, it seems like I'm a pretty good writer then, if my style is similar to all these great authors :D. Guess I picked the right hobby and field to work on after all...

I used my 4000th post celebration thread (The Right To Arm Bear's 4000 Post Special: Observations From My Travels) and apparently I write like Edgar Allan Poe.

I've had lots of weird results. I plugged in different portions of a naval history paper I wrote and it came back with Shakespeare, Robert Louis Stevenson and Mario Puzo. I'm wondering how much is based on content and how much is based on style.
I put in 'Herp Derp' and copied and pasted a few hundred times and got Cory Doctorow and Stephanie Meyer on different tries.
