And yes you goddamn have. I've never met a dedicated Beck hater that's actually read the books and watched full episodes of the show, people who have are mostly just annoyed by him, or like him, and I have no reason to doubt that you're any exception.
I have, however, read his books, listened to his radio show AND seen his TV show.

And I despise the man.

The bit he tried to do on pro wrestling was absolutely slanderous, it was even worse than this video game example.
My my, this thread is full of firsts.

I'll take your advice and avoid his commentary on pro wrestling.

I don't think they where firsts. I just think you weren't looking or listening. Because it would be rather egotistical of you to say "if you have all the facts you are going to agree with me." There is always going to be a dissenting opinion. Even if the facts point to a 99.99% certainty there will be someone who disagrees. And as Saviordd1 pointed out this is not even close to a 99.99% certainty.

Furthermore look at that LiberalVewer guy on youtube he talks a lot about how he is always looking into the "Extra bits" that fox new reports on. There is also that study that shows atheists know more about Religion then most theists. What I am getting at is I think that critics of things often know more about the thing they are criticizing then the advocates. That's not to say you can't criticize form ignorance, but I think that's the exception not the rule. That's just based on what I have seen I might be wrong.

Edit. Wow rereading that the second paragraph it was kind of convoluted, if you read that and didn't understand what I was going for I don't blame you. Anyway I think the overall point I think that critics typically know more about the thing they are criticizing then advocates.

I'm sorry to hurt your feelings on this but anything on Beck's show won't be taken serious for three reasons.

1 he has a horrible sense of humor

2 he promotes violence on national television

3 he gets away with it. Any other celebrity would've gotten crucified for promoting violence, racism and spreading conspiracy theories. He makes money out of creating a blame game that promotes violence. And it sickens me.

What you saw on his show was just the usual stuff. Something happens, look for scapegoat, tell the public of the evil the scapegoat supposedly perpetrated. It must've been harsh to you that this time you liked the scapegoat.

The moment Glen Beck was uttered I knew this thread would be derailed. The guy does come off as a jackass, but honestly he is like a small dog that barks a lot. Really annoying, but not very threatening.

My problem with the anti-video game lobby is that they are an anti-video game lobby. You don't see an anti book lobby or an anti movie lobby or an anti television lobby. No one is going to argue in favor of cannibalism but no one stopped the creation of silence of the lambs ( the book or film) there were no outcries saying KIDS WILL SEE THIS AND START TO EAT THEIR PARENTS!!!

No, because that would be stupid. And I doubt anyone would argue that point, its the same with a game, it is a form of entertainment, some deal with very dark topics (mass murder being one) others like viva pinata deal with making a garden. Arguing that a medium is bad because you don't like some of the subject matter that is portrayed using that medium is stupid. I don't like the idea of genocide, however I have seen a number of films that deal with the topic. And no one (who is sane) will start to tell me that having seen those films will drive me to murder.

You lost all credibility and should now cease to ever open your mouth after admitting to being a big fan of Glenn Beck.
Go take a hike.

Glenn Beck actually has defensible positions and thought processes behind them, as can easily be seen if you read any of his books. But you can't CONCEIVE of this, because you've based all your opinions off of a few bad clips you've seen off his purposefully inflammatory show. PROTIP: It's intentionally inflammatory.

And yes you goddamn have. I've never met a dedicated Beck hater that's actually read the books and watched full episodes of the show, people who have are mostly just annoyed by him, or like him, and I have no reason to doubt that you're any exception.

OT: It would be fun trying to find a "murder simulator" for them to blame if we asked them to find one that wasn't Manhunt.
How many liberal books did you burn in the name of Glenn Beck today?

I personally don't think that ANY of these pundits believe the shit that they spew on their assorted media outlets. They get off on being controversial and they make money from the ratings they get from all the people that nod their heads along with what these people and their guests say.

People like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh AND their liberal equivalents aren't the idiots they know exactly what they're doing and it's made them all rich. Their rabidly loyal followers are the idiots for saying "This must be the truth because So and So said so on their show and I agree with the things they say because it sounds good to me! No! I don't want to see an opposing view because I might have to think for a bit and my mind change!"

As far as there being an Anti-videogame lobby, yes it exists, they are again a vocal minority but they get their share of media attention when something happens that might be able to be blamed on videogames even somewhat tangentially.

Zero. Book burning is a tragic and awful thing.

How many books have you set on fire in the name of your own breed of snideness today?
