Probably not, I wouldn't if they were a guy either, but if they did it again I'd probably try my best to teach them a lesson. Don't think I'd be able to hit a girl though, unless she was trying to kill me. I'm generally quite good at managing my anger and not letting it translate into violence, but sure I'd defend myself.

No, of course I wouldn't. And I wouldn't hit a child or guy either. I would defend myself enough and walk away. You don't need to hit anyone to defend yourself and defend myself is all I need to do.

I've been randomly punched, (and once headbutted), in the face by people. Hitting them back never made me feel any better about it.

I'm a martial artist so defending myself is kind of ingrained. How I choose to defend myself would probably depend on the situation. Unless she was beating me I probably wouldn't straight up hit her in the face. I'd just go for some form of restraint like an armlock till she calmed down.

Depends on the mood I was in. Although whatever way I go it would be the same reaction as it would be if a guy hit me. I might hit a bit harder if they said 'You can't hit me I'm a girl'.

when somebody hits me my first thought is "whats wrong with you?"

the second hit gets me thinking "i wonder if i could knock a few teeth out with one punch"

Single random punch from a stranger? Doesn't matter whether it came from a male or female, I'd be attempting to discuss what the hell just happened, not blindly retaliating.

If the attack is repeated, I might strike out if I thought it was necessary, but only for the purpose of ending the conflict as cleanly as possible. Again, this is true regardless of gender.

First I'd ask her why, if she gives me a bad reason or no reason at all, I'd punch her back. If she gives me a decent reason such as ruining her life, I'd let her punch me a second time.

I'm not the kind of person to immediately retaliate. I'll probably be too busy trying to work out why some random girl just punched me.
And besides, hitting her back will only make it worse.

I'd ask her what the fuck is her problem and try to talk to her. If she continued I'd probably try and restrain her without hurting her too much but if I couldn't do that I'd hit her.
