Laughing is the best way to handle it, makes the attacker feel helpless, be it girl or boy.
a woman would only ever punch you in two cases in my general opinion.
1. self defence - irrelevant in this case
2. to make a fool out of you/emasculate you.
My sister's thrown a punch at me for reasons in the second case - and I started laughing, part genuine but exaggerated, giving her the signal that her punch wasn't very effective.

Depends when, where, how hard, why.
If she's just being stupid or put up to it, then I'll continue on my way. If she means it, then I might fight back, or if she's determined to do some damage, call the police, or more likely, hope someone else calls them while I'm defending myself and then prosecute for assault.

there could be alot of reasons, she deranged..she's been drugged and she doesnt know what she was doing, she's mistaken me for someone else.....the list goes onJiggy said:

I was raised to never hit a woman and as such I guess I'll just stand there and take the punches. I understand that some people are arguing that equal rights means just that "equal" but I just can't see myself hitting a woman, I'm a 6'4 man and there is no excuse for that.
I actually was in situation like that, though it was a guy and we were both drunk. He kicked me in leg while trying to hit the guy next to me, not thinking more of it at the time I just reacted and threw a punch at him.
So my answer is yes, I would hit back. That one has been hardcoded to my mind so deep that I will not even pay attention of the gender, if some one hits me I will retaliate.
Unless it is some one who I know who wants to even up of something I've done or said, then I would not hit. But a total stranger has no reason to hit me, so I do have right to defend myself. I am not a punching pack.
Still I'm not saying beating ladies is ok, it's not. But if some one attacks you the gender doesn't mean a damn thing. You are attacked and you have right to defend yourself. If the attacker how ever leaves immidiately after the hit, I wouldn't pursue. But if he/she would come back or stay, it just turned in to a fight and I have no habbit of running away(mostly for being a bad runner) or giving up with out a very good reason.

Oh yes lots. I would at least attempt to block her punch(martial artist) and I would strike back. Why is this even a question?

That goes beyond self defence, kicking someone in the head when they are down is almost always wrong - unless you know 100% when they get back up they will kill you.Hateren47 said:

In all seriousness I would probably try to defuse the situation through communication and restraint first, but if she was continually aggressive then I would have to.
