If anything that plays games counts, PC because I could just emulate all the console games.

This gen: Ps3
Any gen: Ps2

And no, I'm not a fanboy, I just happen to have a crap ton of backlogged games on my Ps2 that could easily take up months of my time

PC period.

why you ask?

Emulators
Curse your violation of the spirit of the question.

I'd say PC because, with FEW exceptions all of my favorite games have made an apperance in the PC at some point or another.

Following the spirit of the question, probably my Super Nintendo. If there can be a critical point in my life that set forth the path of social outcast, curmudgeon and gamer, it likely falls somewhere in the SNES Era. There were so many games that I loved from that console. Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Alien 3, Mechwarrior, Tetris Attack, Super Mario Cart, Zombies Ate My neighbors and countless games I've rented.

Super Nintendo, no contest. Over 1000 games to try with hundreds of outstanding ones. Millions of people have collections of them lying around and even if you go to a game store, used SNES games are like 2 dollars. Not that there'd be any game stores if everything but the SNES ceased to exist, but you get the point.

well, i get what you're going with your reply, i happen to have made backups of all my games (except this and last generation) and keep them on my pc just in case the disk or cartridge goes faulty. i would say still P.C. because i loved the point and click adventure games and early fps games. i don't really consider a P.C a Console, more like a entertainment unit. with that said ,if i had to save JUST ONE console then it would be either a SNES or PS2 due to the massively extensive back catalog of games for either and with the PS2, i can still play my PS1 games.

PS2, for Shadow of the Collusus mainly. Also because it was my first 'next gen' console.

PCs(only because they are useful for a lot of stuff, not just games). If they don't count, the SNES back in the day. If it's only today's systems then the PS3... I guess.

Of course I could save the Virtual Boy and all 12 games for it...
i'm actually mad you said virtual boy, well, if you needed a doorstop THAT bad......

ANYTHING That Can run games counts...PC's and SNES do count:D
PC is not a console. PC's emulate games soooo, makes the argument a little one sided.

Console - PS2 because it has so many games. I know I couldn't play Zelda or Mario/Kart but it has all the others.

I'm still gonna say PS3, even if we're including all time. I've had more fun on that and my 360 than in any other generation.

It doesn't matter, this is a VS thread plain n' simple. All it comes down to is a pointless non-discussion, with people posting their favourite console. I just give up trying to stem the tide of these threads.
I sympathize with you, mate - really, I do - but I find the best solution is just to roll with it and have some fun. Even clever people can (and IMO should) indulge in silliness from time to time.

That said, the console I'd save would depend on how long I had to think on it. If it was a knee-jerk reaction, the part of my brain that likes to make me a jackass would probably compel me to choose the N-Gage. Then I'd grab my collection of various books and manga and just laugh...then probably run somewhere safe.

Like the moon.

The Adventure Continues...

We now find our commander, Sir Iebem, stuck in a raging battle with his old friend, Alen-Warerior.

"How could you Alen! We were supposed to help fight the aliens together and let everyone enjoy the consoles and computers again!"

"Ah, tsk tsk Iebem. You don't realize the power that they hold. They can create resolutions 10x more intense than 1080p with minimal effort required. You on the other hand can barely muster up 720i."

"It's not the resolution that matters, it's what you've got inside that counts! I know for a fact that your graphics card is a pathetic piece of junk."

"*gasp*! You swore to never speak of that again!"

"And you swore to stay by my side, what happend to that?"

"Engage!"

*clang* *smack* *stab*

meanwhile...

"Dreamcast! Iebem is being attacked! We must hurry!"

"Grab Playstation the Second, we need a good marksman to incapacitate Alen-Ware!"

"Should Snessy take command for now?"

"No, Ninny the 64th must take over. Onwards!"

to be continued?
THE ADVENTURE LIVES ON!

We now find the 2,600 Ataris fending of the alien warlords along side 64 Commodores (I ran out of names) in "Ye Uncanny Valley" waiting for reinforcements from the "Phantom Squad"...only to realize they never came.

"We can't hold them off much longer! Where the hell is the "Phantom Squad"?!?!"

"I don't know sir, but we need reinforcements fast! We can't allow the Fun-sucking-aliens to defeat us here or they'll control the Gun, Projectiles, and U-bombs in this valley!"

"We're not going to lose them, ya hear me!"

"Yes sir!"

"Good, now call in for an airstrike by the Deadly Strike team!"

"They're almost out of Cartridge-Carpet-Bombs, are you sure?"

"Well, it's now or never to find out!"

To Be Continued

I would save the PS3...and if the PC or laptop could be classified as a console,
then the Laptop and PC would definitely win

Oh man, Uhm. PC.

I mean, i'd weep and cry lots for the loss, but... I could move on. And PC will never die, it just keeps changing and growing.

I've always considered the PC more of a tool so that, in my mind get's to stay either way.
Over the time i've spent playing the three current Gen consoles i've found myself strangely leaning more in favour of the PS3, even though I have mroe experience with the Wii and happen to own the 360...

But the PS3 just seems like it'll last.
and besides, with the absense of the other consoles all games will likely be ported to whichever one remained anyway.

360 Elite. Better cooling than it's peasant brethren, and all of the awesome games.
