Let's say that by some unknown means, somehow, all technology that makes the core of many peoples lives (computers, phones, machinery, guns(yes guns too), power plants, TVs, cars, planes and etc.) disappeared, what would you and what do you think the rest of the world would do? Try to rebuild somehow? Try to help each other to survive? Start pillaging the area and killing everyone in their way?

probably a mixture of all three. At first there will be riots till someone is able to get their senses together and focus on the situation. W would learn to survive than try to rebuild as soon as we get the resources and the means to do so

Well, we'd all be very cold because we couldn't wear clothes anymore.
And I wouldn't be able to see because of my glasses being gone...

Damn that would suck.

Depends, would we be unable to reinvent the lost technologies? If so, then the world would slowly rebuild, in the mean time I'd be enjoying my new found simple life.

If we couldn't gain back the lost technology, then the world would probably be a better place, I think I'd enjoy it. Shame I'd be stuck on this little island called Albion.

90 percent of the world would spiral into chaos.
And 10 percent of the world will still be living in mud and foraging for food.

I would set off on an epic adventure to create a cycle-powered generator and a ps3.
Admittedly it would be a hassle waiting for everyone to get online if I was the only person with a console.

Wow...everyone would be very depressed...the world would fail. Pretty much, imagine God hit the "restart" button on his WorldBox (his game system where he controls the world).

Seriously, though, I think there would be mass riots, humanity would end.

doubtful. If anything it could give us a fresh start, a time span to re-evaluate ourselves, our technologies and our impact on the Earth

To that I quote King Faisal.

"My people are from the desert, we grew living on Dates and Camel meat, we can easily go back,"

Collectively humans are very resourceful, I don't think that either society or the human race would fail. Although it's likely a lot of people would starve.

As noble as it may seem, the world is not better off without any technology. Look at the medical devices that we have created to diagnose and cure illnesses. The average lifespan (in developed countries) is about 40 years longer now than it was before technology.

I believe that things would become REALLY shitty for a while, but the lost technology would be quickly reinvented. Probably the biggest loss would be the loss of communication. When you think about it, we're so used to instant communication now that we can hardly imagine what it would be like for a message to take weeks or months to get to its intended reader.

I'll guess a majority of people would start by pillaging the nearest super market for canned food, leading to the inevitable violence.

Then, once somekind of leadership is formed, people would start to help eachother, leading to the rebuilding of society.

A lot of people would probably die during stage one, though.

If however houses and interior (food and whatnot) disappeared too, I'd say at least 70% of the human race would die. The rest would become Bear Grylls.

I'd be more worried about what happens with the Max Brooks style of governmental collapse.

Riots, violence, then quiet..

Until the "barbarians" come to the gate of the nice lil place you've set up for yourself. Then your just boned..

I would be practically blind, since I'm extremely short sighted so anything I did do would be accidental...

I would become supreme overlord of the world after only five days spent with the various deer and antelope I meet on my epic travels. You see, on the fifth day, they would guide me to the great jewel of the heavens, which I would accidentally touch, giving me the powers of a god, but corrupting my mind with an evil and somewhat animalistic insanity. With my godlike powers, I would restore the worlds technology, but at a heavy price. The world would be under my dictatorial rule, and my concubines would be great and many. Soon, the world would be infested with accidental inbreeding. Long after my death, the human race begins to resemble nothing that has ever lived before. And that would be the story of my contributation to evolution.
