If it was ranted and raved about, I'd maybe consider it and if it had some good releases. My history with their computers has been strained and I'm beginning to loathe their company. Plus the fact that they're always bringing out new models might be something to consider...
Pretty much this. I wouldn't want to buy a console for style alone. Besides, they'd have to have some crazy awesome exclusives for me to think about it.

No thanks.
I'm not keen on the idea of a controller with only one button.
And the games would probably make the average Wii title look deep, well crafted and sophisticated.

No, because it would be horrendously overpriced and there'd be a new iteration of it every few months. And every game would be a download that you only get to download once before it makes you pay for it again.

I do not particularly care for Apple, and the mainstream gamerbase doesn't really care that they exist.

No. Too little disposable income, too much hate for Apple.
Plus it's very unlikely that they'd ever try to do it [again].
They'd have to get some crazy awesome exclusives for me to even think twice about buying one.

And all the features you listed are already available on the Xbox 360 with the Zune/Netflix features... Oh, wait. I'm the only person who bought a Zune.

Anyway, Apple would have to do something extra super special to catch my wanting. Otherwise, Steve Jobs can go fuck himself.

Ok, to correct a few people here:

The Pippin was a joint venture with Bandai. They didn't have full control over the product. Furthermore Apple is a very different company to what it was back then.
Whats this about 'every few months'? It may be a joke, but cmon, thats a bit unfair. Besides isn't incremental updates something that is happening already? PS2/3 Slim, 360 Slim, Wii without Wifi to make it cheaper, goodness knows how many PSP/DS iterations...
Sure, a lot of Apple products are expensive, but look at the iPad; competitors are really struggling to meet that match point. Apple can do affordable products; they're just affordable based on their quality, similar to the PS3 which crams a lot more stuff into a slightly more expensive package.

I would make such a decision depending on what the finished product looked like. I certainly don't make a judgement based on rumours and assumptions, Apple is no exception. However, considering I'm an Apple head, and they generally make very good quality products, I'd say yeah sure, I'd probably jump in the bandwagon. Of course, they'd have to cater to the more 'mature' *cough* market before I'd be willing to get one... good games make or break a console, after all.

So much Apple hate! Well, I don't hate Apple but I don't like them. In their awkward business period of the 90s, they did release the Pipin. And it totally sucked. It was just a normal Macintosh stuffed into a 90s looking box.

But I'm here to argue that they already have release a different console and many of you and your friends may already own it: the iOS devices. iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad. They're Nintendo's biggest competition against the 3DS. And it seems like Apple's winning this one (price drop, anybody?)

And yeah. You're right. New model every few months. I'm not really sure if you could say "overpriced", but yeah, the devices do have a hefty price tag. And the games are what the developers make out of them. Everybody here should know of the success Angry Birds.

Now. Would I by it? Well... I already have bought an iPhone 3GS. It's obsolete and I still think it is an amazing device. But I didn't buy it exclusively for games. In fact, games were about the least of my concern when purchasing my phone. I just think it's a well designed device and it does what I want it to do and more. But for games, I'll just stick to my gaming PC.

If they made a console it would have to be like the Xbox, and they couldnt pull the Apple stunt by making a new one every few months. They would also need to keep a low price so that gamers would be open to it, and a good game line up. Also they could tie in Itunes and other small apps. If that happened then i would buy it, ive bought Apple products and each one has been fantastic and long lasting.

I doubt it, because I only buy consoles for one reason: games. I can't imagine an Apple made thing having any exclusive games that I would be interested it.

The market can't sustain that many consoles, you need to remember this would again split up the consumer base and the developers, even if it's a superior platform they would most likely flop due to console market saturation.

The best they can do at this point is to promote the casual mobile gaming, there is alot of space to grow and no shortage of money to be taken off the dummies, where else can you make tens of millions on a flash game alone.

No.

No, no, no. Apple products are fine and all and I own some, it's just for games-consoles they'd follow their usual 'Vampire' routine, except it'd be a lot more expensive.

Phase 1: Cannot enter your home or work its intentions without your consent. How endearing and harmless!

Phase 2: Inspects your home and, without your consent or knowledge, will turn all of your beloved into something like itself.

Phase 3: You eventually get more drawn and drawn into it's world until eventually it dictates what you do and who with. You want to play on your Xbox? I'm sorry, the Appbox 2012 turned your TV into an AppTV that can only run AppApps from your Appbox. That's okay, though. The Appbox loves you, right?

Phase 4: Without knowing, you're suddenly very much awake. You're living with a monster. It's turned everything you love into something monstrous like itself. You try to get out, but now you need it, and no-one will believe you. They'll all laugh while they slowly turn into other victims. It will feed on your friends and loved-ones until they are all hollowed husks of who they used to be, who only want to make you buy the same products they do so you can communicate!

Knowing apple even if they release pre N64 tech they would charge about 100x what its worth and then release a new model in 3 months that lets you do something basic, like use 2 controllers at the same time (revolutionary!).

They don't need and don't want to. Their I-OS platforms could already be considered consoles in their own right, and pretty much own an entire sector of the industry. Trying to invade home console territory would be to much of a risk for Apple, regardless of how many people would buy their product just for the "I" in front.

no, i dont agree with the way they do business.
Not to mention it will be overpriced (and hyped) anyway.
