DA: Origins would be worse by a insane margin as for Dragon Age 2: Kirkwall I most likely would have liked it with huge anime eyes talking animals and a young Hawke with some real "chosen-one" powers more than I did the real one, just saying.
Edit: And yes after deeper mind-searching I most likely would have liked turn based over DA 2 system, not that it was bad but it was just 100% about having the right position to stay safe and out sight while using a few aoe's and winning instantly.
I hate people who take the cliches that final fantasy managed to create and always put them as a common characteristic of ALL JRPGS in an UN-OBJECTIVE PRETTY NARROW MINDED idea.
There's plenty of JRPGs who completly avert everything you guys have said up until now, and some who just avert some of them.
You're kidding right? It took me 80 hours to beat Origins, it didn't even take me that long to beat Final Fantasy 6 and Grandia 2. Have any of you played any of the Persona games by chance?
You know, I was actually writing this earlier today and I decided to Google it to see if anyone else had thought of it. So I'm bumping this thread to let you know what I came up with, because it's so extremely important. (I AM FULLY AWARE that these are all just stereotypes, so don't start whining at me. If you feel the urge to do so, you should instead focus your attention on making a "what if __ were a BioWare game" thread.)
-Alistair would be the main character. And he'd be "scrappy."
-Wynne would be a sweet, beautiful, spiritual young woman, and a love interest.
-Leliana would be the giggly, energetic type, who never went through any form of redemption/denial. Basically: she retains her bard personality (only happier), and her Chantry personality is transplanted onto Wynne.
-Morrigan would be Lulu.
-Sten would be...well, pretty much the same.
-Dog would look like a pastel marshmallow and be named "Poku" or something and say nothing but his name over and over, and probably have a special connection with Wynne.
-Oghren's drinking and perving would be dialed up to 11. Wait, it already was. 100, then. Jesus.
-Shale would have no personality and talk like a 50s sci-fi robot.
-Zevran would be dark and brooding and badass, and definitely not a love interest.
-There would be no sex but plenty of sexual tension, and all the love interests would just be there to make it a harem comedy.
-...Complete with hilaaaarious misunderstandings, tripping and landing in boobs, and slapping people while yelling "Pervert!"
-Character ages: Alistair, 17. Leliana, 15. Wynne, 16. Morrigan, 19. Zevran, 18. The others, "old."
-Dwarf females would be kawaii loli chibis. Probably with pink hair. Leliana might be one.
-Also, dwarf technology would be magitek. Surface-dwelling dwarves would build airships.
-The Circle would be evil (except for Wynne, who weeps when she remembers that she used to be tied to them), and also responsible for the Archdemon's rise. They wanted to break free from the Chantry and so they summoned the Archdemon to worship like the Lost Ancient Tevinter Civilization (tm) did!
-Also the blood mages in the Circle Tower would be all of the mages, not just some of them.
-The Chantry and the Templars would all be good guys, and also they totally use magic too.
-Andraste would be the main deity, rather than the Maker, and all Wynne's magic revolves around her.
-Loghain would be unquestionably evil--with the crazy eyes and the cackling--and irredeemable.
-Loghain IS the Archdemon!!! You fight Loghain, then the Archdemon explodes from his body (final boss) and you fight him in some kind of crazy alternate dimension battlefield.
-There would be no sexing up of Morrigan at the end and, in fact, no choice there at all. You kill the Archdemon, everyone survives and is happy, end of story.
-Speaking of no choices...No choices. Anywhere. Ever. Bhelen would be 100% evil and Harrowmont would be 100% good, and you would work for Harrowmont. Zathrian would be Secret Evil, and you and the Dalish and the werewolves would all team up to overthrow him, and the werewolves would remain werewolves but go live with the Dalish to be (sex) buddies. The Landsmeet would just be a cutscene. Etc.
-Alistair's heritage would be a shocking revelation halfway through the game, and after a couple scenes of "W-wait, I'm a WHAT?! WH-WHOOOAAAA!!!" while the girls swoon/scoff/give him motivational speeches, he would be totally into the idea of becoming king.
-Anora would be as bad as her father (and dressed in spiky bondage gear), and a miniboss before the end, but before you kill her she has a change of heart and tells you where to find Loghain, so you spare her life and she hints that she's totally into you.
-The Brood Mother would still be sexy, and she would have become what she was through implied tentacle rape. She reverts to her old form just before she dies so she can gasp out something about being sorry for what she did and thanking you for ending the nightmare.
-Caridin's forge would have no moral questions involved. It just pops out golems, and at the end of that quest line you happily re-obtain it for the war effort as your reward.
-On the positive side, the graphics and environments would be gorgeous. The armor would also be colorful and extravagant, but the designs would be...questionable.
