I'd go with scavenger (you forgot it). spend my days shifting through rubble looking for anything valiubol with one hand one my gun, ready to shoot any massonry that looks at me wrong. I'd also be looking for any way to better society and get things as civilized as possible. Do some odd jobs, get a house.

A mercenary, traveling from city to city with a beat up rifle and scrapped together gear, taking odd jobs for caps and shelter. Scrambling together whatever tools I can, hitting up the local bars, and searching for the raider that killed my father, cause everything needs a plot.
Pretty sure I'd be one of the countless people that were vaporized in the initial blast. That's the most likely scenario.
If I survived, I'd probably be a ghoul.
If my family was in the Vault, we probably died from the crazy social experiment.
If I somehow made it all the way to leaving the Vault, my first response would be to find a nice rock and enter a fetal position, as all I can see is death, destruction, and decay.
I'd argue that most people would probably go insane if they saw all that stuff suddenly. An entire world, lost in the horrors of nuclear apocalypse. Most buildings are now just dust, same with most of those killed. The only things that remain are charred corpses, mutated humans, and half-destroyed buildings that could collapse at any moment. There is no drinkable water, there is no uncontaminated food. It basically would be Hell on Earth, a land of misery and anguish.

Raider-hunter. I'd conduct attacks on their encampments, picking them off with sniper attacks at night... or stalking and killing their patrols. Raider's are pretty much the scum of the earth, and I imagine settlements like Arefu would offer rewards for some additional "security".
Or.. perhaps I'd stalk Brotherhood of Steel patrols, conducting "clean-up"- scavving the corpses, and using them as distractions for my sniper attacks.

I would tame one using the Electric sword from Op. Achorage, and Ride it Badass style also id have my M.I.R.V and id just put the wasteland into shock and awe as i rid Wiggletums The fantastical through Enclave Posts releaseing more and more Wiggletums Jr.s until i had an army at which point id enslave all the major civilizations of the wasteland going futher until all of america was under my control....next you say?
