Considering most of my run-ins with Obsidian resulted in awful, buggy, poorly designed play experiences...

I'm gonna have to say I'd prefer they don't touch any sequel.

No, wait. Scratch that. I'd like to see them make the next Call of Duty. If only because, given their penchant for RPGs and buggy game-play, I'd be curious to see if the game would still sell "like gangbusters"; simply by brand name alone.

I would cry such happy tears

Dungeon Seige 3. It had an interesting leveling system where your power came from your armor and weapons and your skills came from your level but otherwise, it was crap. It didn't blend well. It was Baulders Gate on Xbox/PS2 version. It just had a different leveling system (not better nor worse) with minor ways you could alter the story. I think there was like 5? I didn't care for it anyways.
The main problem with Dungeon Siege 3, AFAIK, was that Obsidian didn't put their creative A-team on the project, just their best programmers. What was born was a technically solid game with no good roleplaying moments, and it quickly vanished from most people's memories

Something was gained with the creation of Dungeon Siege 3 however: now Obsidian has their own game engine that they know how to use without creating a thousand bugs in the process
That I didn't know. But it is good to know.

How about Obsidian making their own IP? Wouldn't that be a concept! (Alpha Protocol doesn't count)
Why not?

What if Obsidian made a sequel to Alpha Protocol? Whoa. Crazy, I know.

Oh, oh, here's a good one: What if Obsidian made Deus Ex?

Or, or, what if they made a South Park RPG? Haha, that would be so ridiculous, I'd think it was an April Fool's joke!
sigh i want a sequel to alpha protocol
Me too. But the odds are slim because gamers prooved that some minor graphics issues (clipping and texture pops), dumb AI (imagine that), and an escort mission made this game an "unplayable train wreck". Oh yeah and some people didn't want to have to fight bosses or something. That argument always sounds like "I put all my points into hacking and now I can't beat a boss so this game sucks."
Actually, Obsidian has said they are interested in making a sequel, just not published by Sega, as Sega thinks "review scores=quality", and think that Alpha Protocol didn't get good enough scores to warrant a sequel.

Also, 'Space Wizards 3'? Why would you call it that?
Because its about wizards in space (Biotics) who go on adventures with space Dwarves, (Turians) space Elves, (Asari) and space Gnomes (Salarians) in order to defeat space C'thulhu. (Reapers)
Wow, talk about shoving square pegs in round holes. Turians are far closer to Romans and Salarians are far closer to a sort of Gypsy-Jew hybrid. As for Asari, they're not so much Elven as Green Skinned (Well, blue) space babes, only Elven in the sense of their long lifespan and sense of superiority, they show no real affinity for the natural world. Did you actually -play- Mass Effect, or just read about it on the internet?
I'm more going High-Elf than Wood-Elf (Most fantasies make that distinction) in my description of Asari. They're effeminate, long-lived, condescending, and magically (Biotically) inclined.
The Turians are a race of hardy, mostly lawful good, militarily inclined, stubborn bastards.
You seem to have Quarians and Salarians mixed up. Quarians are the space-Jews, Salarians are space-Gnomes in that they are small, intellectual, and hyperactive.

Really?-_-. You are going to hate a company just because their releases are buggy? Bugs can be fixed, bad storytelling can't. Obsidian knows where it counts.

Personally, I think the story would be worse for it, because Obsidian is not good at huge epic stories involving several characters, usually characters get pushed off to the side, while others get forgotten with only a few characters being relevant.

I like Bioware, and not Obsidian, the reason for this is because while Bioware lets you make your own character, Obsidian (besides making their games technical wise unplayable pieces of shit) puts you into an existing character without telling you anything about them, and handing you full control at a certain point in the characters life with no info on what they did previously or how they used to act.

Really? -_-, You are going to complain about my post just because you can't read? I said to keep their programmers away. Learn to read please.

Fallout 3 was better then New Vegas, I also liked it more then the first two.

If Obsidian made Dragon Age 2, though, it probably would've been the exact same. An insanely flawed, choppy game with a cool story.

Whew, with that said i'm heading for the nuclear bunker.

Any Troika sequel would do. Obsidian knows how it's done as enough former Troika guys work there.

Arcanum 2 for starters,
Vampire: The Masqurade - Bloodlines 2 for main course and
The Temple of Elemental Evil 2 for dessert.

Thank you.
