Best game ever, i mean, the sheer amount of games you can play within this game is amazing.

But i don't really like the perma-death concept.

Worst fucking customer support ever.

Seriously. When one of the most controversial, hot-button issues among the playerbase is whether the GMs even exist, you know you have a problem.

I know it seemed like an ok idea to base the entire game on user-generated content, but come on. Giving the players total control over the ingame economy and government was a terrible design decision that destroyed game balance. Character creation blows too. Stats are allocated randomly, and random character traits that don't impact stats may have seemed cool in the planning stages, but players constantly use those traits to justify mistreating other players or to draw false conclusions about their stats. Practically your whole play experience is defined by where you spawn. And I don't think I even need to comment on PKing and permadeath.

There's no official documentation on how the game functions either. We think we've managed to cobble together some of the basics over the past few thousand years, but it's still incredibly contradictory, incomplete, and largely based on speculation and trial-and-error. At least the mod API seems fairly robust, although it really feels like the GMs just want us to do all their work for them. A few of the smarter players think we'll be able to mod out a lot of the broken mechanics over the next few decades, or build an artificial GM to do it for us, but I'm not too hopeful.

The graphics are pretty though, and at least the minigames are fun.

It would be like Rune Factory in that everything would have a level associated with it that you could raise by repeating said action.

So naturally their would be a skill for Ham & Cheese Sandwich Crafting, Enraged Driving, and Masturbation.

From what I've seen of the storytelling, the dialogue is really badly written and most of the characters are boring stereotypes.

There's no good endgame, either, and you can't run alt accounts.

I've got this weird graphics bug too, where everything is blurry unless I use the glasses patch, which is somewhat inconvenient at times.

You have to wait eternity to respawn, so if you got screwed over by the random spawning the first time you're stuck. This causes lots of balance issues.

There are a few other issues too:
-There's an issue with the 'intoxicated' buff that causes graphical problems and makes the controls feel clunky.
-The manual hasn't been updated in 2000 years, and doesn't help at all now due to all the patches and xpacs since then.
-The time-killing minigames such as 'TV' and 'internet' are sometimes more interesting than the main game, which is obviously poor design.
-Some skills take way too much grinding to improve.

Is no one going to point it out? It seems like playing a woman can be extremely fucking annoying at times.

-The graphics are phenomenal, although that depends on the level of your in-game eyes, apparently some see better then others.

-Graphics and controls are glitchy as hell when the "intoxicated/drunk" mechanic of the game is involved. Hope that gets patched soon.

-Unbalanced starting levels: I hear certain people players start out with ridiculous "hereditary skill/social/financial/health/cosmetics" buffs. Although, you will find those with severe debuffs, which can fill your "sadistic joy" meter.

-There's no subtitle option. Seriously, what the fuck gosh-darn-heck are some of you even saying?!

-The morality system is far too complex. The "politically correct" mechanic in conversations and everyday life fluctuates from player to player.

-No matter how skilled you think you are, a speech check will always fail at some point.

I feel that adds a level of strategy to the game, making the perma-death concept more important to other players. Imagine if we had three lives to spare like in the NES days? Shit's unbalanced as it is.

-No save games! Sure, it keeps track of my progress and saves over that one slot all the time, but GM-dammit! I want multiple saves.

-I don't know about you guys, but my tutorial levels were absolutely horrible.

-It's considered "murder" and "stealing" if you and bunch of friends go out raiding.

How would you describe or review it. How would you explain the gameplay, the writing, the story, sounds, etc.
the graphics and audio are second to none, but the levels are overused and the lighting is horrible
if oyu want to see inside something you have no choice but to bring a torch.

there is no background music, except the dull whine of machines or the whisk of wind.

inventory management is abysmal, you have right and left hand
( which are also use dto interact, open, ect. as a multi tool. )

and generally only two to four pockets, which can store only the smallest items

your carry weight is terrible.

writing is extremely dynamic, as are actors, acting and menus
you can do, create, think or say anything but it may not be useful.

there is no quick travel and the game runs in real time, which can end up being a real time sink.

if you kill people, you end up in prison or as a 'bandit' wanted by the law

the game is sandbox, but only runs in real time and cannot be saved, edited or modified outside the parameters of it's design

basically it's crap, fortunately it's populated with so many time wasters and mini games that no one much cares.

Pro's:

Billions of concurrent players with virtually no lag.
Highly immersive gameplay.
Tons of content, with many lands to explore.
A lot of player choice, with deep, complex and often profound options to take.

Con's

A complex skill and class system makes it difficult to build an effective character. Also levelling is very grindy and takes a long time, plus a lot of the skills have very limited uses once achieved.
While you can change your appearance later in the game you have no choice in your initial appearance, race, gender or starting location.
Questing can be interesting, but is weighed down by too many repetitive boring quests to earn money.
Permadeath discourages taking risk in game.
Distinct lack of choice for players who want to use magic.
The game is full of micro transactions and is quite clearly pay to win.

Well, griefing is easy, Mods very rarely try and ban you from it. The only real problem is the job class system. I recently took a level in 'IT Guy' but am still stuck as a 'misc scivvy' The soundtrack can be fairly generic, but is fairly easy to customise. And Finally, there are lots of hats.

I'd give it a 3/10

It's amazingly realistic graphics, physics, level size, and scope are wasted on a game that isn't much fun to play and has little to no sense of fairness or balance. Some players start off with high stats while others are spawned with crippling weaknesses that are hard to overcome.

The game's tutorial is orders of magnitude longer than any other I've seen and cannot be skipped.

The game's extremely hardcore emphasis on meters such as hunger, thirst, rest, etc and highly expensive in game items force players to spend a large percentage of the time simply grinding to stay alive. And the grinding is some of the most tediously boring I've ever seen.

It comes with an enourmous list of in-game rules with extremely high penalties for breaking, and the permadeath feature discourages players from taking risks.

Though the face models look splended(ly realistic) the character has little customization outside of basic accessories such as facial hair and clothing/hats/glasses. You cannot choose your gender, race, or sexual orientation.

Though the world is enormous and traversable it takes a long time to travel it and due to the games economy it's usually too expensive to leave your hub area.

The game cannot be modded.

Your car key can summon your car from nowhere and send it back at your convenience. No more worrying about it being broken into -- it doesn't exist when you're not using it. Vehicles do not require gasoline. Cars have two speeds: full stop and flat-out. The price of a car relates directly to how fast it can go (actually, that's real life). Many people acquire extra vehicles just for status (oops, also real life).

No matter how far away you are, you can teleport home in just a few seconds by concentrating on your house key.

You have GPS in your head.

You can carry 100 feathers as easily as 100 bricks of plutonium or 100 breastplates, it doesn't matter.

An airport is one guy with a bag of money and an infinite supply of single-use, one-man jets.

Despite the fact that running feels slow, you can somehow run from the Appalachians to the Rockies in about thirty minutes.

No more lines taking up space at the bank or amusement park. Thanks to clipping, 100 people can stand in one spot! There is no need for traffic lights, sidewalks, or parking lots.

Harassment and identity theft are the only crimes. Rape, assault, and murder don't exist. You can't even have your pocket picked. Anyone who steals your identity, however, can transfer his mind into your body, take away everything you own in a matter of minutes, then transfer control to someone else.

Any injury up to and including death heals in just a few minutes. Disease is a mild inconvenience at worst, and always goes away on its own. There is no infirmity....but no athletic talent either. Everyone is born with the same starting stats and potential.

Everyone is jacked without needing to work out. All women have enormous breasts, but since they ALL have them, it's nothing special.

As nobody has genitalia, there is no sex. Reproduction occurs through spontaneous generation: one moment nothing, then a fully formed person! New people are inexperienced but possessed of everything they need to make it in the world.

All people move at a fixed speed, much the way vehicles do. Consequently, there are no races. Sporting events rely exclusively on teamwork and quality equipment, not necessarily in that order.

We are all telepathic. No need for cell phones, we can communicate directly, over any distance, with anyone whose name we know. We can make ourselves heard for thousands of miles by raising our voice. Ebay isn't a website, it's a channel in our heads.

Much of the world is staffed by robots: tireless, motionless servants with no lives of their own. We don't know where they came from. As long as they continue to perform their functions, we don't care.

There aren't many language barriers but the ones that do exist are completely insurmountable. No one seems capable of teaching or learning.

Often we disappear from the world entirely. Sometimes we're missing for minutes, sometimes weeks. No one ever seems to file a report.

The gods are real, though it turns out the actual pronunciation is "mods." These capricious beings hear prayers but often do not answer.

Parallel universes exist: same world, same time, but filled with other people. You can cross from one to the other by making the proper sacrifices to the gods. It also seems to happen temporarily during sporting events.

Food is a convenience, not a necessity. Likewise with water and sleep.

Money is essentially worthless. With no need for food or rest, most purchases are strictly optional. Little of what's out there is truly worth buying. What is worth buying costs more than most of us can afford. Inflation is completely out of control.

You can't buy groceries without hacking your way through fifty or sixty gnolls. It's a good thing there are no traffic lights because if you stop, you draw aggro. Visiting a friend? Bring lots of ammo!

Baking 1000 chocolate chip cookies gives you the knowledge to make prime rib au jus, apple pie, stroganoff, and a dozen other things. You can learn to do anything well by picking a single task and repeating it until it's easy.

Wars start and end in the space of an hour. They end not with surrender but with the attackers getting bored and wandering off. All borders are set, food and water aren't needed, and nobody can be killed permanently, so there isn't much to fight over. Nothing is really gained or lost except time.

Stores will take anything you want to sell. Unfortunately, they only pay in money.

First, I would point out up front that all these microtranscations scattered throughout the game ruin the experience of playing. Second, I need to point out how buggy all the characters are, what with half of them making no sense and the others obviously malfunctioning. Third, I'd call out the game developer for copying Sol-Deace and Sim City (only without the monsters to make it interesting). FOURTH, I have to say I have NOT gone up in experience for killing THOUSANDS of the stink bug, wasp, ant, or other insect enemies. Fifth, I should like to point out that THERE IS NO PLOT.

In short, reality is an overrated experience, run by a shit company whose offer may say F2P, but that's a wholesale LIE. That company doesn't even NEED the money, and it squeezes all the players dry. Couple this with its lack of patching or optional DLC with like fantasy themes or something and you have a very dull game.
