Anyway, imagine this universe without videogames at all, where would you put your 20+ hours a week into?
now, now my life would be differnet, like a lot but I wouldn't I spend eight hours a week playing video games but if I played 20+ hours a week I probably would not have any life, I would be considerabley more fat and I would smell

Become a female body-builder.

Actually, I?d just stick to my childhood dream of being an author/illustrator? Though I probably would be better at sports.

I'd play board games and PnP with friends, and going to the library all the time to just read random books. I think I'd be better off that way, but videogames have it's advantages too.

Some would argue that the drive to improve video game technology also improved computer output the last 20 years. Smaller, cheaper memory was developed in a short amount of time. Video cards and 3D rendering of polygons would not be as advanced. While we may have CD's for our music, DVD technology probably would not have come out for several more years. It's hard to imagine what the effect the lack of video games would have on the internet. Without LANs we would not have as much networking. Internet speeds would be less of an issue. Dial up would be a common thing. High speed internet a luxury that is rare. Most cell phones would NOT have applications for everything. Cell phones would be larger, clunkier and have bigger batteries (but not more efficient batteries). Oh, and they would be more expensive so fewer people would use them.

Movies would be alot less flashy. Special effects involving CGI wouldn't be around. Stuff might live up to the Star Wars standard, but most special effects would have to be done on models to scale. On the bright side, episode 1, 2 and 3 would never have been made, so that would be a nice added bonus there.

All the true/stereotypical gaming nerds will have started becoming obsessed with table top gaming and trading card games like Magic, D&D Pathfinder etc (I'm in that catagory by the way)
The Gamers who play nothing but racing games and fifa (Basically the ones who have a semblance of a life outside of their homes) Will play ACTUAL football more often and be "boy-racers" in the streets of the world.
GTA/Manhunt addicts will add to the overall population of serial killers
COD/MW addicts will have joined the army
...
See where i'm going with this? XD

(note:-this is purely hypothetical)
