If you actually lived in fallout, how would you survive?

I would gather up old, old prewar scraps and books and slowly learn about robotics and electronics. I would gather money and hire assistants and consultants and then use my knowledge to invent a brain implant. I would then slowly absorb people into a hive mind, where they would sync knowledge on disc and then go out and explore, find and survive. This would permit us to find a suitable home and then share the knowledge. Once done, we would go out, gather equipment and build a fort. With that done, we would gather more people into our hive mind and soon become a powerful and formidable faction, for our sheer tactical ability and overall gathered intelligence.
And the wasteland would be all ours.

I Would Gather All My Friends And Family, Rob The Local Tesco (Like Snake Once Robbed The Kwik-E-Mart On The Simpsons, By Transporting It On A Truck) And Hide In A Nuclear Bunker. However, Ireland Is Neutral, So There Are No Nuclear Bunkers LOL
I'd move in with the talking Deathclaws in Vault 13. When the Enclave attacked, assuming I somehow survived, I would rescue as many of their eggs as I could and raise myself an intelligent deathclaw family. I would also arm myself rather heavily from the Vault's armory.
Just having them around would be a powerful deterrent: a guy who needs no control collars to command deathclaws - deathclaws who can communicate and strategize to a degree - is clearly not someone to take lightly, and most people aren't skilled or equipped well enough to take down even one deathclaw.
Then we'd find some settlement to adopt, preferably one with a decent brahmin stock (deathclaws gotta eat) and folks willing to accept my new family and I. We defend them, they feed us. We could even clean up the Wasteland in our own way: spreading rumors that a weak and undefended settlement has popped up. When Raiders move in, my children will support the local militia and tear the raiders apart, their wealth and gear become ours and the Wasteland is made a little safer.
Or I could just start a circus. "Come see the amazing performing Deathclaws!"

I have no idea what Europe is like in the Fallout universe...

I would probably get some other survivors and go scavenge for supplies and then get to a good building that is easy to defend from Raiders and Muties. Every month or so when we have scavenged all the supplies from an area, move on to the next town, eventually working our way from the Northwest to the Midwest US. Bombs probably dropped on the coasts, for the most part.
Dave had the right idea, I gather some survivors, build some fences and houses, and create the Republic of Jedamethis. Or Jedopolis. Or Jedatopia. Something like that anyway.
I figure myself to be a trader of sorts, I'd stay the f*** out of fighting when I can and mostly exploit other people. Probably capture a superhuman at some stage and train him up good.Blobpie said:
