If you aren't, at any point were you ever a platform fanboy?

I had a touch of Xbox fanboy in me back when I got the X360, but I've since bought a PS3 and I just can't muster the energy for getting worked up over it.
Still don't like Nintendo. Nothing against it - I just don't like any of their games. (Except classic Pokemon.)

I was a huge Nintendo fanboy, still am, but not in the "My console's better than yours!" way like I was when I was a kid. I guess it ended during Nintendo's infamous 2008 press conference. I felt betrayed...

In fairness I was once the whore of consoles because I've seemed to own each console and defend their qualities regardless. I've now settled on the 360 mainly because my friends all have one so multiplayer is much more fun.

Regardless however, I wouldn't say I'm a fanboy for it.

Pretty much nothing...

Yeah, that's how I'd describe it...

That made me smile.
Back on topic, no I don't think I've been a fanboy. I have defended the 360 though when my brother said stupid things like the PS3 being better because it has Gran Turismo and free online. Yes, he is one of those stupid people.

When I first got a ps2 I wasn't really a fanboy as I didn't actually know anything about the companies ( I was 9), but my friend got a gamecube and since we didn't know anybody with an xbox we would always hate on it saying its a crappy console and people who buy them are idiots, then of course next generation we both get an xbox 360 and all our hate flew out the window.

Nintendo when I was, 8ish just because of the titles, now it's more like hey a cool game is coming out [insert console] maybe I'll get it. It's all about games for me now(or if its coming to PC)

Sony fanboy during the PS2 era-Early PS3 era. When I realized that Xbox 360 and Playstation are nearly the same specs and have a similar game library it stopped mattering to me. I don't have any brand loyalty to Sony anymore.

I played nothing but nintendo games for the longest time. about the first 16 years of my life really.

now i dont own a nintendo console... i just dont like most of the games out on them anymore. most of the stuff that I want to play (see: everything but WoW) is on Xbox, and some others are on playstation.

but there is a part of me that will always love the glory days of playing NES SNES and Gameboy all day every day.

my household was mainly Nintendo growing up, my cousins was mainly non-Nintendo.

Growing up we had NES, Gameboy, SNES, N64, GBC, PS2, Gamecube, GBA, DS, Wii, PSP
my cousins got Genesis, Gamegear, Sega CD/32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, Xbox, Xbox360

my brother now lives on the other side of the country and he has a PS3 and a 3DS

so between all of us we've gotten to play almost every major gaming console.

it wasn't because we didn't like the other consoles, it was just kinda an agreement that our older brothers cam up with. that we for some reason carry on to this day.

none of us were really PC because the consoles were just easier.

Used to be an Xbox fanboy. And I was the Call of Duty, suck my 9 inches, screaming little boy xbox fanboy. Never even played PS3 and trashed it just because I had an Xbox.

Then when my dad took away my Xbox for doing shit in school I secretly started PC gaming. Then I began PC gaming a LOT.

I haven't touched my Xbox since. Though I do kind of miss the people I talked to over the console.

Never really was a fanboy, just played on the platforms which games I was interested in and which I could afford (well and which was age-appropiate when I was younger).
As a kid I began playing with the Gameboy, also playing a bit on the computer, later on got a N64 , then switched to ps2/ps3/psp (plus I stayed with the pc all the time).
The XBox's games never really interested me - ok, maybe some caught my attention but not enough to justify a purchase.

ALthough I've certainly never been a console fanboy, the Super Nintendo clearly is the ultimate gaming system, even now!

Quite possibly Sega Genesis, While I remember having arguments at school about which was better, my arguments were usually more along the lines of "i prefer the gameplay" while i had friends who more often chose the route of "Fast hedgehogs dont make sense because hedgehogs are slow."
I quite loved the Genesis, but wouldnt shun any other console, does a sliver of sanity prevent me from reaching fanboy status?

I'm working past it but I'm exiting the Autodesk Maya fanboy phase of my life. A respected teacher of mine credited Maya as the industry standard of 3D animation. He didn't imply it was the best or anything... I did though...

on a different note, it's weird that all the top "competing"(for lack of a better word) non-free 3D programs are all owned by autodesk.

OT: I was a Nintendo fanboy till I got a Game Gear

I was a major sega fanboy for the Sega Saturn, (and still love allot of its game more then modern mainstream) In current gen my favorite console is the 360, but I wouldn't call myself a fanboy. The wii has (a couple) good games. I truly hate Sony as a company, but they make a great console.
