CoD. NOT because it's not good, but because other developers would potentially develop an innovative shooter in its absence rather than just copying the shit out of it.
Fable. and Peter Molyneux along with it. Most over hyped series out there. Its not terrible (expcept the 3rd one) it's just not worth the praise or hype its gotten.

I would probably say that Dante's inferno is the franchise that has dissapointed me the most in recent memory. There was quite a bit of build up but then it kind of fizzled out. It wasn't that great a game to begin with. I would be quite happy if someone managed to eradicate Dante's inferno from existence.
Well I wouldn't go back in time and destroy any one franchise because I believe all of them have their place in making gaming as a whole evolve into what it is today. However, if I could change the future of one gaming franchise I'd choose Call of Duty. No, not because it's popular, but because I think they should take a couple years off, build up a new engine that looks great, and then start again. All the games since Modern Warfare 1 really look the same, sure there was a bit of a leap for Modern Warfare 2, but it wasn't that big and the graphics aren't getting better. I enjoy the story and action pace of the Call of Duty franchise but I want to see some improved graphics/physics, additionally this new "Elite" program should come standard with the original game, not as an added "premium service".

I'd combine the first and second Kingdom Hearts Final Mix games into a single magnum stand-alone epic, with the combat and camera of KH2 and better exploration elements, maybe include RE: Chain of Memories in the package so that you can know what happened to the first half of Org. XIII, then I'd remove the secret endings and the message in a bottle stuff.
...and halt the manufacture of any KH game made for the DS, 3DS, PSP, GBA, and beyond. I'd come out and announce this new Kingdom Hearts megagame; Then I'd apologize for, and invalidate, the existence of every other KH game by calling it what it is: A fangirl fanfic phase of my life.

How come nobody said the Crysis series? Seriously what the hell does that game/series bring to the table? It's just a decent FPS like everything else now a days that have brought absolutely nothing beside good graphics.
While that is not mentioned, people instead post games like WoW, Fable, Final Fantasy, etc. Why? Despite how much you dislike those games, at least their a little more original or have at least had a much bigger impact in the gaming industry then games like Crysis, Battlefield, Dynasty Warriors (Seven? Seriously?), when those type of games are not even going to be remembered at all.
