Either make Alan Turing straight, or remove the idea of homosexuality being wrong from human consciousness. Imagine the advances in computing we would have if he had had more time to live and not been declared insane and medicated.

I'd like to know what happened if the Atomic Bombs were not dropped and what would happen if they were not created. I'm quite curious as to what other events would follow.
the allies estimated that it would have cost one million casualties to take the main islands. those are just allied casualties, that doesn't count all the Japanese they'd have to go through, which would include women and children at that point. they would have thrown everything they had at them. the Atomic bombs saved a lot of lives and suffering.
That's obvious. The Atomic Bombs are effectively what ended the war prematurely, and though it caused the deaths of many many Japanese civilians, about 200,000, it potentially prevented even more casualties from both sides from occurring.

What I'm curious about is how much longer the war would be, what events would take place that didn't because of the bomb, and how different the world would be without an atomic bomb, if it is different at all.
Probably another 6-8 months, maybe? and without the bomb would we still have nuclear power, or nothing at all?

And on that note, what would have kept the Russians from invading if there was no threat of MAD, interesting idea.

Japan going north to attack Russia instead of trying to take over the pacific islands. Would Russia have been crushed by the joint attack of Germany and Japan? Since Japan didn't attack the pacific, and thus didn't attack pearl harbour, would the US ever get involved? Probably not. So how would the second world war pan out?

Take Adolph Hitler alive. Curious to see how the trial and sentence would play out, and if anyone would come to his defense.
$50 says no one would except his wife.

At the Nuremberg trials he was everyone's scapegoat.
Eva Hitler? I don't know.

"It may be victor's justice, but it was justice none the less"

OT: Two options for me:

I would change Napoleon's hight. Would he still be the same way?

I would make Ludwig Van Beethoven not go deaf. Would he still write the same music?

EDIT: As a third option, Gavrilo Princip is never born.

Napoleon was average height he just hired tall men to be his body guards which is why he looks short next to them.
I think it had to do with being measured in "French Feet". But what I ment is that I would make him taller, well above what was normal at the time.

I'd make so that Alexander the great spoke more clearly on his deathbed when he named his successor. (If you're not familiar with that part of history, he said the name of one of his generals. but people misheard him and thought that he said to the strongest. which split his empire into 3 separate ones)

I would stop the formation of Religions.

Not because I want to see religion itself eliminated, but rather, because I would like to see the progression of the societal concept of morality, and how it would evolve (possibly under a different name) without the concept of God.
Chances are people would respect their ancestors and run Elder Councils for cutural value instead of an almighty being. . . Thats just theory though, maybe they 'would' become hyperadvanced 1500 years earlier.

OT: Succesfully construct the machine that can send and recieve messages to and from the future and technically the past.

lets see... I'd kill the person/people who wrote the bible, just to see if because of it, most would be atheists (smart people) which would mean we would have had alot more technology today because there would be no religion telling us it was wrong, or if we all would be muslim or something like that... Anything is possible!
