But seriously your arguing that you thought halo was bad because it changed the market, but while you may have eliminated halo you would have just promoted another game to the top causing all games in the future to mimic that. And in my humble opinion I think that as far as games to be copied go, halo most certainly isn't the worst.

Making hypothesis that something eventually in the future will happen is a little futile in my opinion.
Heck a meteor might just fall from the sky tomorrow so it won't matter anyways huh? Get the point that i'm painfully trying to make here?

And no halo is not the worst, but i never said it was, i believe it's one of the many sources that spawned so much poo on the gaming industry.

It is utterly futile to predict that another game may have taken halo's place as an idol, but it is equally futile to say if halo was never made that the gaming industry would be better (i hate this argument as well). But predicting and hypothesis are subjective terms, and arguing or trying to rationalize them is futile in and of itself.

All games have contributed something to popular culture, whether good or bad...But.....Lets see....Hrm.........BMX XXX....Porn does not belong in games, well at least in not such a disjointed fashion. This game was originally a Dave Mira (SP?) but they took the name off because of its poor quality. They actually tacked on tits to help raise sales because they knew it would flop otherwise! Let me go into less detail..THEY knew a game was so bad that it wouldn't sell without adding tits! Has any other game ever needed tits added to it to make it playable? Comon, be honest, anything?

Methinks if the forums name had been named "If you could choose 1 game to be wiped from history forever... What would it be and why?" then I would have explained.

But since it was not named that, I still feel as if there was no reason to justify what I said.

Many other people have said games that they wanted erased, but gave no reason for why, and I don't see you jumping down THEIR throats. Be consistent.

And the name calling was unnecessary.

I'll answer my own question, Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball, but at least they had the shameless parading of women fine tuned with out of control physics and far too many swimsuit choices..BMX XXX was basically "Here you played with us for this long? Lets give you some tits!) Wait....Ok both of those games need to be gone.

I knew a few thousand people would say Halo. That's just stupid.

I would wipe that free XBLA game that Microsoft gave us off the face of earth. I can't remember what it's called but it's awful and consists of bad memories.

And why would wipping out one of the sources of todays game mediocrity be deemed as stupid?

The source of game mediocrity is not Halo. That's a ridiculous point. The sci-fi space marines plot existed long before Halo. Halo brought the melee button, the grenade button, and popularized the modern shooter control scheme. Yes, a lot of games use it and don't stray from it but that's because it works.

Or let's pretend Halo never existed. Eventually, somebody makes another game that's really popular and it revolutionizes the genre. So, developers and publishes use its ideas and make mediocre games. Either way, without mediocre games... there wouldn't be great games.

By the same argument that goes around, let's eliminate Medal of Honor. That way, the world war 2 shooter would never have been popularized and so many mediocre world war 2 shooters wouldn't exist. Or how about Super Mario Brothers? That way Mario would never be popular and we wouldn't have so many dumb Mario games like Mario Party. What about Tetris? If it never existed, there wouldn't be so many stupid puzzle games. Someone here said that it's like cutting off your toe to keep from stepping in shit.

Try this, go to a xbox forums and say "halo 3 sucked". You'll get plenty of amount of bile by saying that EVEN if you justify on why. You won't get any of it from me if you justify why you didn't liked final fantasy. But hey you could ignore the bile so why didn't you?

Why those two?

Because I DO NOT like them. I've explained why in a lot of different forums, but apparently I have to defend myself here too.

I don't like Final Fantasy because I find it to be slow and ponderous. I don't like the "Lets stand in a line and take turn smacking each other in the head" game mechanics. I don't like the art style. I don't like the characters. I don't like the ridiculous amount of praise it has received for being, at most, and OKAY game.

I don't like Metal Gear Solid because the shooting mechanics are bad. The stealth mechanics are also terrible. Splinter Cell destroyed Metal Gear Solid in the 'stealth-gameplay' department. The story is not deep, and wondrous. It's just boring. More often than not, it just doesn't even make sense, and when it does make sense, I just find myself not caring.

I'd probably wipe Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup. What can I say? I was young and foolish. If any of you have had the misfortune of playing it then you too will wonder why it hasn't been added to the list of "Games which are famous for being bad".

However, I would never remove Halo, certainly not the original. I get really annoyed with people who say it's just like every other FPS before listing a bunch of games which came out after the original Halo.
