I was gonna go right out and say a tiger, but it seems that half he people here thought the same thing.In that case, I would go with an owl or an otter.

Giant anaconda. Like Xiorell said, you could try to get one normally, but they're hella expensive and wild ones are temperamental. Judging by the other responses, people aren't worried about the cost of acquiring the animal to be tamed. It'd be financially sound to have a 40-foot snake so you can charge admission.
