Left 4 Dead with Dawn of War. A coo-op, objective based survival horror game, playing as space marines, fighting your way through a chaos-infected city. Of course, you need more enemy types. Some with lasguns or something. The powerarmor would also explain why you characters could take such an ridiculous amount of damage, and the bolters would fell most enemies with one shot anyway. As for special enemies, the variety of the 40k universe gives us plenty to choose from. Chaos Terminators, Demons or Necrons.... well, i think it would be fun.

the expansive real time universe and planets of frontier

for those who do not know what frontier is, imagine a game where you can fly through the universe in real time and visit real and fictitious planets, and enter the atmosphere, and land anywhere on the planet surface and it is all in real time distances, (your ships are very fast though and you have hyperspace capabilities but if you wanted to you could haplessly drift through the Sol system in real time.

and - GTA - the ability to do whatever when ever like get out of your ship and run around, i have dreamed of a game like this forever,

Unfortunately i don't have a ps3, so no Resistance 2 for me.
And, it would still miss the Warhammer 40k background, which IS the reason why i chose Dawn of war.

starwars battlefront 2 and soulstorm .
the ability to go to ground with your fellas and be an insignificant speck of futility in the middle of an epic battle (instead of being an insignificant speck in the middle of your own futile lives) would be cool or anti cool espcecially in the wh40k fluff . the ability to influence your base and your troops in a more rts style while taking specific control away over unit control instead giving u orders and tactics u could initiate and ai would carry out , this would free u up to join the assualt at crutical times instead of zooming out and macro managing, unless the ai was an r tard then ud have to macro . essentially a blend of rts and fps with strategic points that must be held .

Toca Race Driver/GRID and Blazing Angels

I love the idea of strafing cars in a WW2 plane. It could be co-op where one player has to race and the other player has to dogfight, cover his racing partner or shoot other cars.

Mount and Blade and The Sims

I just think it would be funny to ride through a neighbourhood of silly vacuous people on a charger, impaling them with lances, throwing axes at them, hacking them up with swords etc.

You could lay siege to houses with an army of Huscarls while the opposing player tried desperately to keep his besieged Sims happy.
