Damn no more annoying 5 year olds. Nvm then. Nah, I would totally play those more than I play games now. Now I run in there because I am totally not attached to my character so I like when he/she dies. But If I felt the pain then I would be more attached emotionally and physically and it would bring gaming to a... WHOLE NADA LEVEL!

It definitely would make gaming more interesting. You would have to tone down the pain though.

That might make an interesting situation, where if your character is armored head to foot the pain would be lessened accordingly. But obviously not real pain. maybe a little shock when you got shot, but anything else is too much. Plus I predict the evil robot overlords will take advantage of it

Pain? No. I mean, unless it was really mild, like a pinprick or a very small jolt of electricity. That would be fine.

If they could simulate just a sensation, like being tapped, that would be interesting. Like, in an FPS, if something tells you that you got hit in the shoulder, it gives you a sense of where the shot is coming from, and where your cover isn't working.

If the pain was something like say, getting shot with a paintball gun, then I'd prob wanna play it, although I'd imagine there would 99% of the ppl would just camp and snipe anyone who runs out. But a game like that can't be played with controllers, we need some full VR jumping around type thing for full immersion.

I would still play video games...but only Peggle. Because the idea of my very senses being at the control of 10 year olds is terrifying.....think about it they could either kill you quickly or slowy just because they want you to suffer.

No. Simply no. Why the hell would anyone ever play a game if it hurt them? We play to have fun, not to torture ourselves.
And who would make such a game?

Fuck yeah.
Suddenly people who play games would be the biggest badasses of all of the nerds. And I would be one of them.

It would also be pretty good for training soldiers. There is no downside to this!
You know, aside from all the pain and the very little people playing and the possible fatal side-effects to people with heart problems.

More like 90%, getting shot is like getting stabbed, burned, and hit with a hammer all at once man!

Ah, as an eight year old I discussed this over many a slices of pizza. And we always ended up with the same answer: Hello no.

What if in the future all game consoles and PCs had devices that simulated pain. For example if you play COD:Super future warfare or something like that and you get shot in the foot, instead of taking damage and dying unrealistically you would just have to tough it out until you get healed. It seems like a bad idea but it would make gaming a lot more interesting and painful.
I would play just to rub it in people's faces when I get stabbed 3 times then still get up and kill them.

would you still play?

Oh, and no more annoying 5 year olds.

the pain would be lessened by 80% of course.

Well if there was pain, there also be pleasure, and there would be adrenalin, and tastes. Then yes. Just so long as you don't ACTUALLY die in real life, then I'm cool with it.

80% you say?

Well, having never been shot I don't exactly know how bad the pain would be, but I would at least try it once!

Maybe cold treatment or capsaicin injections would work because they don't actually cause damage cold would be good because you would numbe and eventually seize up, i dunno maybe just a suit that impeded you movement like you just got shot, rather than injurung you
