If you could genetically engineer one attribute into your firstborn child, what would it be?

Genetically programmed to love the same rugby team as me. I dont know if I could live with a kid who supports a rival team :S

Happy disposition - Having a kid who has a generally happier outlook on life than normal people would be a joy.

Either that or make their eyes look like the mangekyou sharingan. That would be cool.

If it's a girl, save her the horrors of periods by removing them from the system completely!
Making her unable to have kids, too, I suppose.. But hey, the world is overpopulated enough as it is!

That said, I do not desire kids in the first place. Who knows, I might change my mind someday, but as of now? "DO NOT WANT", I can say.

My intelligence, lack of empathy/sympathy/emotion, my charisma and manipulating tendencies. Any or all of those would be delightful.

That is, if I ever were to have a kid. I'd never want one.

After talking it over with the gf and friends I decided mine would be a love of turtles.
Let me explain, I love turtles and even if my kid was completely different to me in every other way I'd like to be able to share something that would be close to both of us. Hence, turtles.
Not everything genetics related has to be something we don't have.
You want to make a meme out of your child!?
OT: Disease resistance, I guess. Other than having a healthy son/daughter I wouldn't want a modded kid. Just a matter of personal preference, I think.
Not a meme, just one of minemine.

And the point of this was less about creating some sort of freakish mutant and more just having one sure thing about your child. Wings, regenerating blood, super strength; these are all things that I kind of said don't count.

Oh and for the record, intelligence is made up of a ridiculous number of genetic attributes and is also massively affected by the upbringing. You can say a good memory, but that is also training. You can say emotional intelligence, but that is about interaction as much as anything else. The more specific the more likely it is that we'll be able to do it in the future.
