If you could give up one bodily function what would it be?

If you could just not have to do something, what would it be? What if you never had to shave again especially for ladies who hate shaving their legs, or never had to go to the bathroom? What if you never had to sleep again? What about if you could live without breathing, you could never choke or drown. What would you choose?

Obviously, I am kind of playing fast and loose with the definition of bodily function, but basically I am asking what is something that you have to do every day, and it would be awesome to not have to do that ever again.

I would go without sleeping, think of all the extra time you would have.

What would you choose and why?

I had to think about this for a minute, I'll admit I was tempted by some of those thoughts. However, I have to say that I wouldn't choose to give up any of it.

It's all part of the endlessly fascinating experience of being human.

I'm torn between sleeping (which I seem to minimize anyway) and breathing (I'm terrified of drowning). Either way, I would demand the corollary that while I don't have to do it, I still could if I ever wanted to. Those birthday candles aren't going to blow themselves out, and I enjoy my strange dreams sometimes.

I would also demand any Required Secondary Powers such as being able to withstand pressure changes in water and space. Being able to keep track of how long I sleep and being able to wake up at will. Things like that.

Not having to sleep without going crazy/dying/getting tired sounds the best. Think of all the stuff I could not do with all that extra time.

Yeah, a whole three or four days before the heart gives out to exhaustion. But if you make it past that marker, then you have insanity to look forward to as your brain starts dying.

Hiccups can go f*** themselves! :D
That falls under breathing. Hiccups are caused by involuntary vibrations of your diaphragm (in the most basic terms anyway; unsure of the specifics).

Never ever tiring I think would be best. I can sleep if I want to, but it is no longer an irritating necessity.

Never having to sleep again. If that isn't possible than the ability to fall asleep whenever I want and wake up feeling completely refreshed. It's not that I don't have enough time, it's that I have trouble falling asleep and it sucks to wake up at 12 o'clock because it feels like I've wasted time even if I stayed up very late that night.

If given additional ability to pressurize the general area to prevent injury from water pressure, breathing. I would only leave the water for food, winter, and video games.

... Death. HA! LOOPHOLE! But really, gastrointestinal processing. I'll lose weight and never get hungry. Also never have to go to the bathroom.

No one has brought up farting yet? As long as there'd be an alternative way to deal with gas, I'd be more than happy to never have to try to avoid doing that again.

I would like never sweating again.. I like to sleep and drink and eat, but I hate sweating. So if there was a way for me to maintain body temperature without sweating, Sure!

EDIT: Although, giving up breathing would be favourable since I like swimming... But giving that up would be kind of ridiculous. Plus, I could never give Mouth to Mouth to save someones life.

It's probably a little too outre, but getting rid of aerobic respiration and allthe attendant apparatus would be cool.

Other than that, defecation.

Interesting. So, nobody yet thinks we'd be better off without having to sit on a toilet for an hour? I think human life would be much-improved if we didn't have shit to deal with.

I could do without Aging. It's getting rather old.

If that wouldn't be an option even in this hypothetical scenario, then Hunger, granted that it would be replaced by some kind of nutrient intake reminder signal or something to that effect.

I can't believe that I'm the first to get rid of the growth of body hair. Fuck shaving. Just... fuck it. It is so time-consuming and annoying. Being female sucks.
