Kawaii ^^
Funny story, it's the love child of a giant horse named Svaðilfari
and Loki also it's name basicly translates to slippy.
well you think that is weird Gleipner takes the cake :p.
Just looked it up,
Norse mythology is weird in general though, if memory serves their creation myth involves the world being sweated out of a giant's armpit,
Japanese creation myths are even weirder belive it or not though if you don't already know I'd recomend looking it up but be warned once learned you can't unlearn.

A Norse creation myth I heard was that the world was built from the corpse of the first Giant.

As for my pet...can I have...this?

A dragon. Definitely. With scales of a silvery-black like moonlight on a stream at midnight. Oh and she would be intelligent, so more of a companion than a pet.

Cerberus. :3 A three headed puppy sounds quite lovely to have. :D
I've got to go with this too. I love dogs and you'd get three for the price of one.

Either that or...

An Undead Dire Rat. Because they are just so cute.

He's the cutist little guy ever! And he's opened a restaurant!

Anyway...in deference to the OP, I actually WOULD take a kitsune. They're intelligent and quite capable beings. (I have a number of fictional characters based upon the lore. If any of them were to pose as a 'pet', life would be 10 times more awesome.)

Yahweh, Jehovah, Elohim, Adonai, The Holy Spirit or whatever name that floats your boat... Or floods your ark.

But this would ofc, depend on the definition of "Beast" :/

Whats the difference?
Pets typically honor a hierarchy as if in a pack(or are ambivalent). A human doesn't.
So a cat is more like a slave than a pet?.. And people with snakes, lizards and spiders are actually slavers?

Do I win the thread?
How would you keep them from destroying the universe when you forgot to give them a treat?

OT: It is hard to say since most mystical creatures would rather eat me or are to smart to be the pet of a human, and the only one that wouldn't would be the unicorn so... yeah, I rather have me a robot.

You may have.

OT: I'd probably be an immortal, shape-shifting asshole. Immortal meaning I live forever, but I can be killed like everybody else.
