This is an interesting question. I don't think I would want to live as the protagonist of a game, but I would like to live in a particular game universe. Two, actually. First is the Freelancer universe. Loved that game. I wish they would make a second one where you could travel (first person) within the bases and the missions you were given entailed more than shooting other ships (perhaps shooting people in bases, hacking computer, etc).

Next would be STALKER universe. Probably wouldn't survive long, but at least you get beans by the camp fire before most of your body is replaced with bullets.

Why? I would become a Vampire, build a mansion in a remote area. Then I would have a group of hot women as my food and fun - in return offering them gold, a comfortable life, and perhaps even immortality. I would make myself useful to the Empire, and attempt to get their protection.

Ageless, eventually rich, powerful.
