Pong, decent boss fight with AI mechanics that the player can earn, 2 Player competitive campaign, the plot would be a little linear since there is no real room for twists, but there could be some very exciting and frantic moments when not knowing for sure if you could make that much needed block in a tied sudden death event. And best of all it has a cyclical ending that leads it right back to the start.dolgion said:I just watched the trailer for Skyrim and am so happy. Happy that after all these years, I feel genuinely excited about a major big studio game release again. In many ways, the Elder Scrolls games are to me milestones towards the PERFECT RPG, as I see RPGs. But I digress.
If you had the resources, what would your perfect RPG be like? Describe features, story, setting, everything!
That was very entertaining to read. Do you have a full story down? Or was that it, an interesting premise?FalloutJack said:snip
Pretty much this with FF7's world exploration and materia system excellence. Also there must be cuteness to make it perfect for me. Imagine FF9's style but translated into the above parameters. Like that. :3Saelune said:I said before. I would use TES as the base, add Bioware for their story and character development (Mass Effect/Dragon Age), Lionhead for bringing the people and mundane to life (Fable), and IO for interaction with things (Hitman). Also very open and free. Oblivion was more restrictive than Morrowind for example.

I'm sure you'll either get something brilliant if you put all the best minds of the Persona series, Ogre Tactics, the main SMT series, and Bioware's best in one room.
It is a game we'd all like to see. Sadly it might be so awesome it would cause a singularity and destroy reality as we know it. Still it is good to see someone with some sense. Now only if we could form an elaborate plan to kidnap these people to make the rpg to destroy reality.Arqus_Zed said:Brgrfflrmmmm...mentalkitty789 said:Take... Sorry, I was just cleaning up the drool sporadically oozing from my mouth.
Now THAT is a game I'd like to see.
My personal dream team:
- Atlus would be put on graphical design duty, from monsters to characters.
- Square-Enix, however, would be the one putting everything into polygons, from cut-scenes to modeling.
- The music would be done by the trio of Kazuma Kaneko, Shoji Meguro and Yoshitaka Hirota.
- Bioware and Bethesda can work together to make everything feel a bit more 'open'.
- Atlus and Bioware can team up for dialogues and storylines.
The game would be lengthy,
contain enemies that can be brought to your side (and trained),
every enemy would be unique (no pallet-swapping),
has characters that possess both character-unique moves and customizable ones,
has puzzles and variable side-quests,
has a good chemistry between design, graphics, story and music to make a solid atmosphere,
and NOT make classical RPG mistakes (too much grinding, lost-forevers, etc.)
