[HEADING=1]JoJo Proudly Presents:[/HEADING]

[HEADING=2]If you could visit one fictional universe, which would it be? [/HEADING]

Here's a hypothetical situation for you Escapists. Say you're chilling in your room one day when suddenly you feel like polishing that strange lamp your aunt bought you for Christmas. Lo and behold, when you do out pops a bored looking genie. He informs you that he is a special type of djinn and that he can only grant one sort of wish: he can give you the power to visit one fictional universe and be perfectly adapted for that world so no-one would know you came from elsewhere. Several ground rules apply:

[li]You may choose one fictional world from any published work, whether that be a novel, film, TV show, video game or something-else.[/li]
[li]You can enter and leave the fictional world whenever you choose, to return to the same time and location when you come back.[/li]
[li]Your appearance, clothing and to extent equipment or innate powers can change whenever you enter the fictional world so you do not appear out of place.[/li]

I would choose the Star Wars universe, since it combines futuristic technology and space travel, which I find endlessly interesting, and the force which is effectively magic. With thousands of planets to explore, I don't think I'd ever get bored, plus hot alien space babes. What's not to like?

So Escapists, what would you choose?

Though choice... Either Mass Effect's universe or Fairy Tail's. Both seem pretty awesome.

In ME's universe I'd probably be a vanguard. I like charging in and fighting enemies up close. In Fairy Tail's...uhm. No idea, right now what kind of mage I'd be. ^^;; Maybe one that uses magic to enhance his body.

I'd choose to live in The Culture universe of Iain M. Banks. Standard lifespan is 300 years but you can choose to live indefinitely, medicine is incredibly advanced so you don't have to get ill, and it's a post-scarcity economy. Also there aren't any formal structures and the vast majority of people are just looking to have a good time and enjoy the universe as much as possible.

Am I allowed to give my top 2? Fuck it I'm gonna :p

Infamous's world. Of course I would be a conduit and I'd be capable of spectacular feats like this;

Although I'd go with ice powers if given the choice. Ice powers are...

*puts on shades*

cooler.

My second choice would be Pokemon. I shouldn't have to explain that one.

Fairy Tail. Being a mage would be awesome. Being a mage in Fairy Tail would be awesome. I got this all planned out.

Pokemon. As I guy above me said, you don't need this explained.

I can't believe I didn't think of this one, Pokemon would be a very real possible choice for me too. Well, as long as I didn't end up some random bug-catcher on Route 2 ;-)

Pokemon, imagine being able to return to the real world as the only person with Pokemon? That would be awesome. I would probably spend most of my time there to be honest, returning to the real world just to say hi to my loved ones and brag that I have Pokemanz!

Plus, if the Pokemon world appears as it does in the games, I would know where to find most Pokemon, even the legendary ones.

I could also catch a whole bunch of other Pokemon just to bring them here and make the real world the next Pokemon world. Though the resulting wars and crimes done with Pokemon would kinda suck so maybe not.

Okay, so this might be bending the rules just a touch, but... You know that world we got a glimpse of in like, season two or three of Heroes, where everybody had super-powers? The one that the writers painted as a terrible place because they were gutless, and ditched completely because it would have been crazy expensive to produce?

I want to live there. See, in any other world in which there are people with powers, there's no guarantee that I'd be one of them. 'Fitting in' would not necessarily grant me the awesome abilities of a select few, so why not pick a world where I am definitely going to get some kind of crazy superpower.

I'm not sure if the rules permit me to bring my power back into the real world (which would be a nice bonus), but even without that, it'd be pretty cool.

I'm having a hard time thinking of an objectively better answer than Star Trek: TNG. High quality of life for pretty much all human beings. Society focused on exploration, science, enlightenment, peace. Unrivaled escapism and entertainment via holodecks. Assuming you're not volunteering for unpredictable risky deep space service, seems you could live out your life in comfort doing whatever you want so long as it's not destructive or oppressive. Sounds like heaven.

I'm pretty sure this is a mandatory response for everyone.

I dunno what else. Come to think of it, most of the universes that are from stuff I like are either like ours or are constantly engulfed in war.

Danm ninja! I thought for a moment there I was the first one to mention that universe!

Ok for my next picked it would be Marvel or DC universe depending if I get superpowers when I entered their universe (and also depend if I got control over my powers and how much pain will involved aswell).

Also runner ups-
Animal Crossing (it's so pleasant).
Gundam Build Fighter, just as long I can bring my model with me (before you mention the other Gundam series, I would like to say I want to stayed alive please)!

Absolutely. Everytime this question is asked, the first thing that pops into my head: Pokemon.

I will be the greatest of them all!

PSA: Also, Kids! Remember, don't abuse your Magikarp! If you do, he'll turn into a giant flying dragon, and blast your ass to kingdom come!

Digimon! It's like Pokemon, but instead of having a team of super-powered monster minions, you get one super-powered monster partner with whom you share a much deeper connection; quality over quantity, basically. Plus, as much as I'd love to have a Pokemon team, there's a particular Digimon that I love more than even my most favourite Pokemon:

Yep, Keramon, the adorably deranged little jellyfish that can transform into Satan. No other monster buddy could ever be as perfect for me.

I have said it before and I will say it again: there is a K-On! gif for everything.

OT: I would have once said Mass Effect, but considering what is apparently considered canon in regards to lore, I'd rather not any more.

I guess either the Deus Ex or Ghost in the Shell universes? I have a fascination with cyborgs and augmentation. If I could switch out my body for one that is entirely synthetic in a similar vein to what is capable in the latter, I'd do it in an instant. Especially considering how in GitS on the surface you often cannot tell that the body isn't a "real" one.

Pokemon, duh! You just don't know how badly I want an Arcanine to be my best bud, and ride around on, and snuggle.

Having recently finished the first season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, I reckon it'd be pretty interesting to delve into that universe. It's into the future but a future that isn't so ahead that it's hard to distinguish from today, people still drive around in cars and it feels like technology has advanced and expanded in a way that is believable. Just the other day, someone had a successful artificial heart transplant. Also part of what I love about the show is its sincerity and neutrality, Siihama isn't portrayed as a complete shithole as much of cyberpunk does. Plus it gives me the chance to meet up with some Tachikomas n____n

Tolkien's world (including but not limited to Middle-Earth), no question. I've daydreamed about living there literally every day since I was about 4 years old. I doubt I'd ever want to leave.

Oh, and I'd ideally want to be an elf, obviously.
