That's a great idea, but I'll do one better. Play at the table of the great man's first RPG, in which he and Dave Arneson adapted a wargaming system to let players roleplay single characters. Witness the birth of gaming as we know it!

One of the other things I've managed which I'm proud of. Imagine Santa crossed with your favourite Uncle. :)

You'd have to go a lot further back. They found a D20 in some roman ruins. And another die (D6 maybe?) in some tomb of a women from a civilization that sounds very old (Ur or something).

I would like to go see a supernova explosion, or the point at which two super massive black holes merged. Or I would like to go back to the founding of every major religion and smack the `human` creators of each in the face. Just for screwing everything up.

Creation, see how it happened, figure out if there actually is a creator of some sort or something. And if I don't go, I might not trigger creation, and that would suck.

The Pyramids being built.
They wern't built, they landed.
If that's true why didn't they take off again? Did someone lose the keys at the beach or something?
Are you kidding? That's easy. Obviously they left the keys in the ignition and forgot to build windows...

I would like to go back and see what happened to the ten lost tribes of Israel...

I would like to meet some of my favorite authors and some of the more inspirational authors like Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, or Olaf Stapledon

I'd want to go back to witness the Resurrection of Christ, or at the very least have a conversation with him. And the kick is, I'm not Christian, I'd just want to know for sure.

Or, I'd like to learn ancient Greek and have a conversation with Socrates or Plato.

Perhaps I'd go back to the early days of the United States and warn people of the damage the slave trade will do to the country for the next 230+ years.

Seeing living Dinosaurs or the Jurassic or Triassic would be a treat, too.

Hiroshima - I want to see a nuclear explosion firsthand, not on a video
Bastogne - i want to know what it's like to be outmanned, outgunned, out of supplies, no reinforcements, without sleep for days on end and still be able to hold back any enemie assault.
Verdun, 1916 - the bloodiest battle in WWI, as well as the biggest artillery barrage ever. over 1 million men died, it was hell on earth. i want to know what hell is like.

all of these probably give you the idea that im looking for sensation and thrills, but i am fascinated with WWI and WWII, so its purely educational.

- The Ballet of the Chestnuts, held by Pope Alexander VI.
- The Battle of Chalons, between the Romans under Flavius Aetius and the Huns under Attila
- The attempted Assassination of Franz Ferdinand. Apparently someone threw a grenade in Ferdinand's car, only for Ferdinand to throw it back.
- The Hundred Years' War between the French and the British that started in the year 1337.
- The reign of King Louis XIV of France.
- Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette's attempted escape from France to Austria. Right before crossing the border, they decided to have one last stop at a bar in France. The maid there recognized them and called for the police, who promptly arrested them. D'oh!
- Robespierre's exectution. He ruled France with an iron fist, claiming it was treasonous to think treasonous thoughts. He was later charged for treason.

From Red Dwarf in Timeslides:

Lister: Yeees... we've got ourselves a smegging time machine
Rimmer: So we can go anywhere we want, absolutely anywhere?
Kryten: Providing we have a photograph of it.
Rimmer: So if one of us had, say a photograph of a female only naturist beach in Acapulco full of bronzed, naked, uninhibited, teenage temptresses, we could go there for a holiday?
Kryten: I suppose.
Rimmer: Kryten, get my photo album.
Lister: Hang on, the thing is we can't move outside the confinds of the photograph, what we see is all we get.
Cat: Meaning...
Lister: Meaning we can't get a picture of earth and go back there, we wouldn't be able to move outside the frame of the photograph.
Rimmer: Believe me this beach shot in Acapulco you wouldn't want to move outside the frame of the photograph.
Cat: So it useless then?
Rimmer: No, not entirely useless. Think of the famous people we could meet, the famous places we could go.
Kryten: We could go to Dallas in November, 1963, stand on the grassy knoll and shout, Duck!

Awkward silence...

Kryten: Umm, I'm sorry, it must have bypassed my good taste chip.

No-one packed a map, that's what happened.

But even if the Pyramiding aliens locked themselves out, how come they didn't call the AAA to come and get them? Or maybe they did, but Pyramids can't be unlocked from the outside without a key, so all the AAA could do was offer them a free ride home. Which is why no Alien bones have ever been found.
Today's been a really slow day...

I'd also quite like to go and see a T-Rex (from a safe distance) if for nothing else than to see if it really did have feathers or not and what colour it was.

Quite right. I was going crazy half way around the world. I couldn't imagine actually being there.

Other things I'd want to see:
The signing of the Declaration of Independence
The Battle of Thermopylae
The Battle of Troy
Hannibal leading the elephants through the Alps
Going back to buy stock in Microsoft when they first started

Frankly speaking, the communist idea is great in theory, but doesn't hold up too well in practice because it still deals with money, which leads to corruption, which leads to....well, needless to say, bad stuff.

As for me, well, for starters, i would like to see how the statues of easter island got moved to where they are, and the pyramids, and most probaly the entire process of world war 2.

I would want to see the invention of the A-bomb or the crash of the Hindenburg.
