You think you can jump off a plane, travel 100 mph while going down, and land on a portal the size of your body?OverlordSteve post=18.71435.724229 said:Three words:

You could just shoot the floor like 3 seconds before you crash into it. Where the other side would come out, I have no idea. If I did that, I'd be wearing one of those flying suits and have the second portal door on the side of a mountain.yourkie1921 post=18.71435.724279 said:You think you can jump off a plane, travel 100 mph while going down, and land on a portal the size of your body?OverlordSteve post=18.71435.724229 said:Three words:

But in the end Samuel L Jackson would track you downvarulfic post=18.71435.723801 said:Nobody has mentioned theft yet? Because I would steal, steal, STEAL. Go in, get the loot, teleport out before the cops arrive.
With my eventually aquired fortune, I would get myself a house in another country, like half way around the world, and then link my two homes with a portal through the basement.
You know,I was thinking that very same thing.rhproperties post=18.71435.724301 said:Hm, portal gun = 1 million and 1 new sexual positions
Why? Who would know you had all that money? How'd they ever guess it was you? Also, I would try to steal from China and North Korea, I hate those countries so much and the odds are they would never guess that a 13 year old boy from America stole all their gold or whatever they made their money off of.The main problem that I would need to overcome is that of irregular finances, If I were to start up my own business as a cover for all the money I'd be taking... everything would still need to be recorded, If I stole £100k from a random place I would need to explain just how I got that money from the oh so very legitimate business, cause people will come a'knockin. And I couldn't just put it into my accounts bit by bit as that would take far too long.
Yes, actually, it does, but I won't get into that (I'll say this much- the first post had different wording for the EXACT same prompt).Terminalchaos post=18.71435.724327 said:...just because a thread has come out before doesn't mean you aren't pioneering.
Too bad that holding open the portal would (in reality) probably cost more energy than could be produced with it.I am sure the first quantum physicist that contemplated true teleportation realized it was a perpetual energy generator.
This could only be done with the original Half-Life portals since they were free-floating. Portal's portals require a fixed surface to be attached to. And even in the case of the former, what constitutes what gets pulled through would have to be taken into account.Out of curiosity - did the last thread discuss the implications to the planet if a portal was put into the vacuum of space or sent into a star?
Don't even go there.Novajam post=18.71435.724163 said:is that a crab on the Iron Ninja's picture?
