Honestly, If I had proof that God doesn't exist then it wouldn't matter. Most religious people would hold it as being a total lie and non-religious people would believe it, but already don't believe in God. Only a few borderline people would change their views. That and religious zealots would promptly murder me and burn the evidence.

I wouldn't show them proof, cause I wouldn't want to ruin their faith, which for some people is all they have. Hell, I would wipe out my memory of it, cause knowing that there is no God would leave an endless hole in my brain that speculates about what life really is until my brain starts to hurt. For me, my religion is a good friend when life is shitty and it keeps me sane when logic knocks on the door to my brain. Plus, I wouldn't tell everyone cause I'm not a douche(except against other douches, meaning those that I go to school with).

Of course i would. A significant part of the world already considers god's nonexistence proven or at least assuringly likely. The rest can't even agree what god is, how god works or how to 'prove' it's existence.

Then again, it still wouldn't make any notable impact. I can already hear "The devil made it!" being yelled at me.

If people want to talk about it they will. You can't stop it, and doing the obnoxious "We've done this topic before" doesn't change a thing, all you can do is ignore it until it goes away. The religion threads usually hibernate for a few weeks before rearing their ugly heads again.

So just ignore it, let those with opinions make them, and we can all move on.

That's the same old cheap justification I've heard a dozen times by now. We need to just start saving our every blithering response to gener-o-topics and copy-paste them in whenever they rear up. I would probably amuse myself with the thought, that I´m the only one, who holds The One Truth, and then disregard the whole thing. If I´m not mistaken, it´s kinda against the idea of believing to ask for evidence. God exists, if you believe so. If you don´t, well, then it´s just a fancy. Besides, it´s not for me to meddle in the beliefs/disbeliefs of others.

EDIT: Then again, I don´t believe in The One Truth, so there isn´t much to amuse myself with. This is just boring.
