Also...The Game
You lost it.

Anyway, I'd choose Oblivion I think, or possibly TES V if it had come out by the time I was on the island :p

Either FF1 or FF4 (on the DS) or any of the Final Fantasy: Tactics series or Dragon Warrior Monster 2: Cobi's Journey. The Final Fantasy ones because I think I could have fun just trying the games with all the different classes, and the DWM because I could try to find every breeding combo.

Mega Man X. Somehow, for some reason I completely fail to comprehend, I never get bored of Mega Man games, and this is probably my favorite of them.

Since i ant pick MMOs and its among my top3 genres i'll go for RTS style.
Company of Heroes or DoW 2. Could just waste time polishing the multilayer skirmish skills, cRPGs as far as they are fine, during a year period i'd be to familiar with all the plot gimmicks to really be able to enjoy it, and lack of multilayer would just make it really boring. RTSes on multilayer however would at least give some form of social contact to not go insane.

The first Magic: The Gathering game.
Since the map and most of the encounters are random and theres 5 colours with many different cards (expansions) you'll have near endless fun!
That or HoMM 2 or 3, Fallout 3 or any good chess game really.
Or perhaps some sort of open office software, so you can use your "gaming device" for writing!

Well i hope to be a game designer at some point so i'd travel into the future and bring one of my own games... probably the RPG one... and no im not telling you the details, I have a suspicion the bobby kotick's demon spies are watching my every move.. waiting for me to spill the details to someone and then take the credit.

... yeah im a very paranoid guy.

if i did bring my game from the future it would probably become the best game ever. while playing it i would remember everything i didn't like about it and then when i made it i would fix these things, give it to my past desert island self and he would list the problems and so on, creating an infinite cycle of improvement.

Time machine, eh? Then I'll go for Fallout: New Vegas, I've seen alot of fallout 3 so starting fresh on a new fallout game would probably keep me going for a year.

With my magical internet connection would I be able to visit modding sites? If so then doubly new vegas.

Wow, i actually have experience in this question ^^ emm, when me and my family went for holidays to Bibione, a beach-city-holiday-thingy (sorry, dunno how exactly in english :p) the only thing to do there was either to go swimming or sleeping. so my laptop saved my life. how? Mount&Blade! you can fight all you want, the game just doesn't seem to end. ever.
