I heard something about that, but I think it was only in some DLC. He is criminally underused.

The guy was THE guitar hero if there ever was one, they even have a character in the game modelled after him.

God, all the suggestions sound far too heavy. I just want to play the game with more classic old stuff, stuff that i grew up with (its not my era, me old man forced it upon me). Maybe some Zeppelin would be nice and why do they not have Freebird by Skynrd on there?

I think this thread is symbolic of Guitar Hero's recent falling out of popularity when compared with Rock Band... I personally read the title "If you made the next Guitar Hero" and thought we were talking on Gameplay innovations, but really all you're coming up with are "Track Packs".

1) The ability to connect more than one microphone for lead/backup vocals.
2) Tempo adjustment: Play a song slower/faster than the original.
3) Unplugged: Ability to go acoustic for a track.
4) Crowd Control: A second meter in addition to Star Power that dishes out bonus points for physical movement w/ instrument or Microphone. (Pointing guitar upward, waving it side to side, point microphone out for crowd participation. Builds up slower than Star Power, drains faster than Star Power, worth more than Star Power, used only once per track.)
5) Picker/Plucker: Play with a guitar pick or with fingertips (Virtually. Yes, this DOES have an effect on the sound!)

That'd be a fresh experience all around, and allow "guitar noobs" a chance to explore the same tracks with different variables and see what sounds best to them as opposed to playing to "match the album version".

Anyone who can beat them should get money.
If I were to be serious though, I would change the gameplay. Get rid of the stupid purple notes, make the guitar necks smaller and the strumming bar not make weird and worrying noises, make the singing more possible to do for a human being, make the drums a bit more sesative and make the bass pedal better and finally stop putting in Nirvana, yes some people like to play them but it's a P A R T Y game, and unless your hoasting a party for a bunch of depressed people who later plan to kill themselves
Oh and more proper classic rock, kinda like the first game did.

Bass too complicated? You have not seen a person who is obsessed with guitar hero then, they will find a way to do it. Even if they are forced to use their toes!

I stand corrected but as i am not likely to get two (lacking correct consoles), I would still put it on the next. Bloody hell, i wish i got in to Guitar Hero sooner...
