i'd cross fable 2 and the elder scrolls to make the best rpg ever, but set it in a real historical place. you'd be a boy in medieval england (or a girl, i don't discriminate) and you would grow up, developing your skills and increasing your repute until adulthood. then you would be allowed to go into a number of careers, e.g. soldier (fighting the french or in the crusades or something), adventurer (you could discover america along with columbus, somehow), law enforcer (rising to the rank of sherrif after completing long mission chains and rescuing maidens from dastardly villains), highway man, hell, even farmer if you like. obviously there would be a main quest to complete, probably involving an evil plot and a family member or two, maybe a supernatural element could be included. all executed with assassin's creed level graphics, it would be pretty sweet if someone could find a way of making it work.
