I like the suggestions of having a delete button and removing the post count (at least don't display it with every post). I don't think posting frequency needs to be "rewarded". Ideally, we should reward quality (at least in the more serious topics), but voting mechanisms on most sites don't really seem to work that way.
I think a lot of the more serious discussions would benefit from having less posts in them that don't really add much to the conversation. It might be beneficial to force people to read all previous posts in a topic before responding for instance (that might be hard to implement, but counting the number of words in a topic and dividing by a fast average reading speed can give a minimum time you have to spend looking at a topic before you can post).

Then again, this is an entertainment forum, so most conversation is going to be frivolous. The captchas can really go die in a fire though.

First: STICKY popular threads. I'm so SICK of the hundreds of similar topics.
That reminded me, the forums could use a better boarder between the Sticky sections and user threads. Those medal icons do nothing to seperate official/sticky threads from the rest.

Perhaps that's just me..but its always annoyed me that there isn't a border between the two.

Possibly it might be better if the forum rules were more specific...they seem a bit vague to me. Still, not got banned yet, so can't complain.

Same here. I know it's just a little thing to complain about, but adding a border would make a lot of difference.

Replace the mods with robots.
Giant robots with laser eyes and rocket fists?
No. Lawful neutral mods, void of bias and sympathy.
Did you get put on probation for something stupid (i.e. the only reason people ever get put on probation on this site) like voicing an opinion that a power hungry mod didn't like? I bet I get warning message for this post, too.

Also, I'd like to see a better exercise of online community regarding Xbox Live and PSN. You think a game site would have some sort of regular event to play with other members on a consistently rotational selection of games, but this wouldn't be the first time I wss wrond about something on the Internet.

I'd make a small sample of the original post pop up when you mouse over it in the thread display section, so you can read the first few words/sentences.

That is a feature for Publisher's Club members. Apparently.
Never worked for me.

Only if what you say against the mods counts as mod sass. If one has a problem with a mod or the way they do things, take it up with Kuliani, he is in charge of them as the community manager. And he is only scary sometimes.
Especially around April...
OP: Nothing to add which hasn't already been said, or that I haven't voiced to certain people.

Get rid of Captcha =P

I am quite new here, but it seems there are *really* strict rules. I wanted to ask people if TF 2 is any good, but it seemed too minor to create a thread for so I asked my question in a similar thread. I received a message, warning that I shouldn't have done that. No consequences, but still seems rather strict.
The strict rules are enforced to keep the peace, and unless you're harsh it all degrades into... xbox live.
And I remember someone was asking that exact question not too long ago, search be your friend.

OT: Kill those Captchas with fire!!

I would try to get more community play-dates up and running. When I joined this site I really hoped that I could meet some of you guys on Xbox Live, but that really hasn't happened.
what's your gamertag? I'd love to do some pladates too (even though the most relevent games I have are Reach, L4D and, Gears 2) I am Enma Daio...also my connection is poor

OT: I haven't really got any suggestions. I like the way things are going. I don't really see point of badges but also think the badges for watching X episodes of Y series should make a come-back. Otherwise I'd say keep up the good work

Oh and one last thing: the title of this thread suggests the thread itself would be completely different. Just putting that out there. I clicked this thread thinking I was about to enter an, 'If you could get away with breaking the law or a rule what would you do' kinda thing.

Personally, I find user groups to be a bit..iffy. I don't see any benefit of having them outside a few special cases (like in the RP and forum games section). I would also make post counts redundant, that would at least hamper people making crappy comments just to increase their post numbers.
I nominate that bold idea but for other reasons. Those being to stop elitism, (Seen it happen) stop the unwanted followings, (Seen that happen) get rid of the insults, (Happened to me the other day and to others) generally get rid of the behaviour about it and to of course, get rid of comments like "I don't watch it." which people use to bump it up. [sup][sup]Admittedly mine's stupidly high but I keep the nonsense to FG's. It's fun there.[/sup][/sup]

Oh, and also get rid of re-Captcha.
The one for this post was "swinings two".

Make forum-specific moderators, instead of having them all be general.

That way, each forum gets the attention it deserves.Yes, I am specifically talking about the User Review forum here. :p

Also I would have a seperate anime sub-forum, because I hate anime and threads about the latest adventures of Hyabusa Anikimaru and his pet snapdragon Shalazaaarn somehow seem a bit immature for off-topic.
Because all anime is the same and for children, right? And Off-topic is the most mature and intellectual place in the world; way too good for anime...

I do think having a dedicated anime-forum would be nice though. That way we could perhaps get rid of the "Recommend an anime" threads that we have to deal with every five minutes.

I believe the advice-forum, at least, has its own moderators.

Edit: Unless I'm wrong, of course.

Edit: Another good idea would be having a display that shows how many people are logged on to the site at all times, like many other forums have.

I know that Aylaine is now a general moderator, not sure about zombiesinc though. But yes, that's how it started out, at least.

I'd like to see thread links to take me to the first unread post instead of having to go to the last page I finished reading and scan manually for it...but then, I'm a lazy bastard.

I talked with Aylaine not too long ago, and she told me she was a full-mod now.
