If you were promoted to an Escapist Moderator, what kind of moderator would you be?

Then again, I could also be useful in writing articles for The Escapist.

I'd be tough-but-fair. If I really HAD to ban someone, I'd make it plain as day as to why they're getting banned, so that situations like people getting into an uproar over NoMoreSanity's banning wouldn't happen again.

I would probably enjoy being a forum mod for a while, to be honest.
I'd do my job quickly, explain why something happened, and then go back to my regular posting habits as best I could.
And of course any jackasses that I run into in threads would be dealt with quickly.

Given the fact that I'm fairly certain fate denies me power specifically because the universe knows that I would abuse it for laughs, I'd probably rule with an fist. Bans all around followed by wailing and gnashing of teeth. Either the users would rise up and kill me (literally or otherwise) or they'd all slink of elsewhere. Then I'd sit alone and despondent in my empty kingdom, and wonder why anybody thought I would be trusted.

Different moderators do different things. But essentialy they contribute to the maintenance, wellbeing and operation of a website.

I would be a lot harsher and mainly focus on repeat topics and idiot newbies who post generic shit without searching.
Zombie apocalpyse and shitty relationship advice threads would become extinct overnight.

This exactly. I say, bring back the days when people had to put genuine effort in creating topics. I'd start locking any topic that didn't at least try to create discussions. No more list threads.

All the staff have the power to moderate, it's just that those other than the Red Guard should probably have more important things to do.

...and I'd probably go mad with power.
