If you were promoted to an Escapist Moderator, what kind of moderator would you be?

I'm too much of a perfectionist. I'm an admin at a development forum for a game, that sadly died a year or two back, I ran around correcting people's posts, switching things around, changing settings, all the time. I even went as far as fixing up scripts that automatically put capital letters in the right spots and removed extra punctuation (only the first counted, the rest were removed). That wasn't enough, so for a while I ran around manually fixing spelling in people's posts and warning them.

On this forum I'd go nuts in seconds, because there are just way too many people on here, it's impossible to read all posts, in all threads, let alone warn everyone who breaks the rules. So I'd probably be quite inactive, I'd ban a lot of grammar nazis though.

I would still use my normal, polite way of telling newcomers especially that the threads they are making are inappropriate. I wouldn't feel right suspending anyone, but I would enjoy locking things like picture or vs threads before they have a chance to spread. I believe most members on here try to do the right thing, and often just simply locking their thread is enough to deter them without having to put them on probation or similar.

I'd be a bad one, prolly.
I get offended to easily, especially when people bash religion so insensitively...

I would probably post a lot less.

I'd hit people for being idiots and give warnings for truly horrific massacres of the English language.
Yeah this, but I wouldn't punish people for expressing their opinions. I would, however, severely punish anybody who dares mutter the word "First", or anybody who simply says "agreed" or "what above said".
By the way, how do you become a moderator anyway? Or do they just randomly ask people if they wanted to be one?

Edit: I'd be firm but fair.

I'd be ultra. Getting back from being banned? Worth it.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't particularly like to be one since it would mean posting less and moving to IRC (scary people there).

I'd be pretty lenient, but strict towards messages that are overripe with hatred. I'd only ban on a last resort but probations would be doled out to repeat offenders and people with obvious malicious intent pretty easily. I dunno, I don't think I'd make a great moderator right now, I'd rather leave that to the professionals.

I'd be a pretty lenient mod. I would probally not even think about banning people for stuff like "This" and so on. I'd probally send a warning there way via PM.

However, I'd come down on douchebaggery like a damn Norse god. Flames would be insta probated, repeat flames would be insta suspended. Oh, and fanboys would be hurt. Like, killed.

I'd LOVE to be given the banhammer... I'd be one of those, cold, ruthless killers of trolls, but also I'd be happy and hyper and whatnot like I usually am with other people on The Escapist :D

I would do my best to serve my people *escapist anthem plays* then I would start making forum games and give dudes badges for stuff like "great comment", "best player (MVP)", or "best contributor".

I'd be just like I am otherwise. Cynical and sarcastic. So many people just don't get the joke in "Lowest form of wit."

I'm a moderator on two sites and judging by that I'd be the kind of moderator that shirks his duties and doesn't do any actual moderating. Unless theres absolutely no-one else around to do it and I happen to be bored. I guess.

I'd probably fall somewhere between a Mr. Burns and....an...err.... probably just Mr. Burns. Senility and rotten with a mild hint of trusted oldster vernacular that would confuse and startle the hearty and the faint of heart alike.

Or maybe Super Nintendo Chalmers.
