I don't hesitate to say Leonard Cohen. He's easily one of the single most influential and incredible songwriters of the 20th century. This isn't my opinion, but rather indisputable fact. I'm not even sure where to start about with regards to his unbelievable brilliance. Just listen to his album "Songs of Love and Hate"... the album is perhaps one of the most emotionally charged works of art I have ever beheld. He is one of the few artists and musicians who objectively deserve to be called brilliant.

Vivaldi. Classical is the music of the soul. Though I'd go insane rather quickly if I'm perfectly honest.
Really? He was rather repetitive, I feel.

(Yeah, like I'm one to talk because...)

OT: JS Bach...

For shits, Gavin Dunne! Though as far as contemporary bands are concerned, I honestly can't decide...

Overkill.
Thrash metal in it's perfection. In spite of having played for over 30 years they just keep getting better and better... Love that band so much!
I don't know. I mean Ironbound was good, but it was not nearly as good as The Years of Decay. But that's all my opinion, and I will admit their live shows have been improving over the years.

OT: Gorguts. Hell I would only need Obscura and be golden for life. But From Wisdom To Hate is good enough from me to listen to it over and over as well.

Second choice would probably be Primus, due to diversity.

Picking Mozart or Bach would undoubtedly give me a vast amount of unique music, especially when compared to, say, the 5-album discography of a pop artist. However, prolific composers such as these have a tendency to re-use melodies/themes, and stylistically the music will be very similar. Yes, Bach composed a unique cantata for each week of the year, but ultimately they are all derived from the same basic formulas.

Overall, I would either say Beethoven, Led Zeppelin, or Earth, Wind and Fire. Slight contrast, but hey, individual tastes xD

La'Cryma Christi or Megumi Hayashibara.

No...I will cheat & say "The Vocaloids," that means I can listen to any song I want as long as it's a Vocaloid remake.

nine inch nails. Trent Reznor has a way of hitting me in any mood, in good ways. With his album selection, I have a ton of mood material for just about any situation. For me.

Maynard James Keenan no question, he's been in quite a lot of stuff besides Tool. So gives me quite a variety.
Yeah, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle are definitely quite alright!

I'd have to say The Smiths personally.

My Chemical Romance.
No particular reason, they're just awesome.

In addition, they have quite a few albums compared to some artists.

Sir John Williams.

Why? Because then I could still watch most of my favorite movies. And because he's freaking brilliant.

Hmmm...Either Iced Earth or Blind Guardian. It would be very difficult for me to choose between the two.

Mine would be Nat King Cole. The reason is simple. You know how couples sometimes have a song which they say is "our song"? well the example of this for my relationship with my fiancee is "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and there is no way I would give that up.
