So Simon can make a giant robot, woopty doo. Ikki can make tornados with his hands. His Bare HANDS! He can also fly so fast that it rips apart a neighborhood. His best freind Kazu can run so fast he turns invisible and creates flames. Lets see Simon do something like that without the Lagann.

I'll grant you that those are impressive feats and without the aid of robots, but does anyone create a mecha that's measured in lightyears and throws galaxies around? I don't think so. With something that awesome, it doesn't really matter if you used a mecha or not anymore.

Actually, the opinion here is pretty anti-Eva.

I'd also be interested in being there, but instead I'd be a more sane person who'd help the characters in a sitcom-like fashion. I wonder how the series would have ended if the characters actually got help.

I wouldn't choose Haruhi because of season 2's never ending time loop.

No one remembers the loop anyway. Only Yuki is suffering through that (sadly). Any lesser person would have been driven insane a long time ago. I wonder what she'd be like if she actually knew how to express herself properly. Probably mad at Haruhi.
